I have a 2006 GT 5 speed. The aluminum block on the end of the shift rod has broken. This is the block that goes to the input of the transmission. Circled I. The photo anttached. Anybody know where I can find one of those or the whole shifter assembly with this part on it?

Mine broke in the same spot. I ended up drilling and tapping it for a 10MM bolt. That repair worked good as new until I found a replacement years later. The only place I could find one was at a junkyard. You might be able to get one if you buy the whole stock shifter assembly from a Ford dealer but I wasn't willing to do that.

I haven’t gotten into too far yet. Can just see that it broke out on the end of the transmission rod from inside. Haven’t gotten under the car yet, so I’m not sure it can be repaired at all. I saw the aluminum block on eBay for $375. Would really rather not pay that much.

I will say this though, when I changed all my shifter bushings to bronze I had to remove that unit from my transmission. I don't know what loctite they used, but removing it even with the driveshaft removed was not for the faint of heart.

yea removing that bolt was a pita for me. i tried days trying to get that one bolt off, it is a bolt that has thread on top and the rest is a pin. for some reason after i undid the thread it was stuck not coming out. i ended up using a chisel type flat screwdriver and hammered it away many times to take it off. i was about to give up but it was off.

one thing to take note of, there are 4 o rings thats in there. those need to be replaced as they seem to be old. i couldnt find a place that mentioned this. i am planning to find a similar o ring diameter to replace it.

I had this shift linkage bolt/pin snap twice. The ford part number is 4R3Z7C211AA. You can buy it directly from ford online.
