Anyone know a good shop in the katy/richmond/stafford area? I recently lost all respect for the shop I use. My car was suffering from these problems:
*car has a whipple, jba longtubes & o/r h-pipe and was dyno tuned about ~3 months ago.
*when started cold the car stutters at 250-500rpm for about 3 seconds then finally fires up. Reads the normal 18-20 inch's of vac. However when started warm the car fires up perfect with no stutter but only reads anywhere from 8-12in of vac.
*once or twice after starting the car it has a slight shake and sounds almost as if it has aftermarket cams.
*for about 20 seconds after the car is shut off there is a hiss that is fairly loud when the hood is up coming from the passenger side of the engine. I haven't had any luck finding exactly where it's coming from though if I had to guess I would say somewhere around where the headers bolt up.
*noticeable power loss
I dropped the car off on June 3rd. After becoming tired of waiting I went and picked it up today, June 24th and this is what happened.
They said nothing was wrong. I'm running a 3.6" pulley with lt's and no cat's and my gauge reads 11-15psi throughout the rpm range, they say that's how it should read. The car idles at 8-12in of vacuum but they say that's how it should read. I have a car that sounds like there's a pissed off rattlesnake sitting in the engine bay when you turn it off, but "nothings wrong". I have a car that feels slower than when it was <300rwhp.
Oh and the best part of it all is that I never even got a phone call . They told my brother this info when he went to go pick his car up after it had been there for a MONTH. If he had not gone up there to pick up his car I doubt I ever would have gotten a call. It made me feel like they really don't give a shit about customers after they have your money. For dropping $5,000 at said shop in the past 2 years I sure am disappointed with the outcome. They have officially lost my business forever.
