Hah! It's ok, I'm already keeping a list/log of parts requests and planning on how I'll list everything. I'm thinking of making three separate sale threads with drive train, suspension/mechanical and interior/trim items all listed in their own threads. This will make it easier to look for the types of items you want without having to wade through lots of posts discussing window trim and radio speakers when you're looking for brake cables or shocks/springs.

Thanks guys. The tires I'm running are the Mickey Thompson Street Comps which were fine the first 2-3 months but quickly turned hard. They feel like they break out quickly and without warning. I've been shopping for better tires (see here) but was waiting for these to wear down a bit more and also pay down my cc a bit as well.

I read your other thread about tires. Do you think if a more suitable street tire was in use, that your accident could have been averted ?? DR's typ have a low tread ware rating to begin with..like 100 or even zero. I see on the corner carving forum, that only experienced drivers are allowed to use the low tread ware rated tires ( made for road course). Normal street tires like Nitto 555's will shriek when pushed to the limits while cornering. At that point, you have 20-25% traction left. Track Tires like the Nitto NT-01 with its lower tread ware rating... will provide for very little warning..when cornering.....they just kick loose on you with very little noise. But you are talking about punching it in 3rd gear..in a straight line.

Even a michelin pilot sport would have a higher tread ware rating than a DR.... but that may well result in less traction.

The MT's street comps you had on the car, went hard after 2-3 months.
I would like to know what is a suitable street tire for high hp cars.

BTW... what differential do you have on the car ? Whose else with MT street comps has the same issues ? Are folks using the MT street comps...getting the back end kicking out..when used on the drag strip..after 2-3 , months use ?

Another factor may have been the outside air temp and road temp..at the time of the accident.

Tiger was running them on his Bullitt and I know he went with a different tire recently.

Rear end is 3.73 gears and TrueTrac. Both tires were spinning which is why it got away from me so quickly. Most likely hit a puddle of something on the road which was enough to lose traction and kick out with that much torque pulling.

That really sucks. This was a concern I had when I was running regular street tires. The damn things would just let go sometimes and the control just wasn't there. Different story with the DR's. Glad you're okay though. You should do pretty well parting it out. It's a lot of work, but worth it financially in the end.

874 rwhp and 800 rwtq ! Yikes..that's a bunch..and then some.

Perhaps for street use, something like a Nitto NT-555DR in a 305-40-18 on 10" rims might do the trick ? They would last quire a while, not too expensive, and still useable in the rain. You don't want too much stagger though.... or the car will tend to under steer.

275-40-18 Nitto 555's on 10" rims..on the front... (or 285-40-18)..with Nitto NT-555DR's in 305-40-18 on the rears, also on 10" rims, just might be an optimum setup. Then only 30 /20 mm stagger.

But this is just pure conjecture and speculation on my part.

Even with BMR LCA relocate brackets installed....(and using middle holes)
and 305 rears.... you could still have issues if globs of TQ involved..and 3.73 or 3.90 or 4.10 gears used....esp with unknown road conditions.

I'm running 285/35/20's front, and 305/35/20 M/T DR's rear. It handles great, and really hooks up now.
