Well, considering she made a garter belt with a genuine Mustang fender emblem as a surprise for me, I'd say I'm doing pretty well. :p

Although I don't go to nearly as many as I used to with previous cars, I do occasionally enjoy car shows and "appearance" modifications. Over the past several months, I've been slowly converting/installing real carbon fiber all through the interior:

The Mustang Club of Maryland had their annual show today, so I got to hang out with all the "car show Muatangers." At least my car cleans up nice.

Unfortunately, my wife became enamored with the Lamborghini doors on one of the more extreme show-prepped S197 Mustangs...

Pitt Race is the former BeaveRun. So apparently this was the first public event held on the new Pitt Race full course (which includes the old North Course and the new South Course). This track is GORGEOUS. The elevation change is like 7 storeys in some of the turns. One of them (turn 4, I believe) reminded me of a backwards corkscrew from Laguna Seca.

I'll post up some videos if y'all promise not to make fun of how slow I am.

If you post a video I'll publicly note how much slower I am.

BeaverRun was a fun and technical track, even more so in the wet! It's been a long time since I raced there on two wheels and many racers wanted more runoff before the armco. From some of the photos, it looks like they've pushed back the armco in many areas from the early days.

This was the first lap of the second session. The first was black flagged due to lightning and debris (mud) on the track. Pitt Race is still working on the drainage.

This lap was under caution due to standing water. You can at least get an idea of how beautiful and awesome the new South Course is, though. Yes, I was driving VERY slow. I watched a Corvette spin off track during the first session and was being overly cautious.

Beautiful track. Remember: you are faster than all the guys NOT taking their cars out to use them! *cough*Darren*cough* :poke::stir:

Seems like a lot of corners with no curbing at all.

Superb video..esp in hd. I'd like to see you do it again.....in the dry. It would be very interesting to see what you can do with an automatic + NT-555's.

Wow, that seems like it would be a fun course to learn and get very good at. I wouldn't have even been able to go that fast. I don't know what it is about the trees and green grass that makes the course look so much less intimidating - I guess it's the walls at Autoclub Speedway but even Willow gets me on edge.

I would love to have a chance at honing my driving on a course like that.

Thanks for the encouragement. As an Autox "veteran," I was intimidated by the higher speeds. I hit 90 on a straight and backed off. :p

It also seemed weird that I had so much more time to check gauges and prepare for individual corners/elements compared to autox.

I'm allowed to put this on my car now, right?
