Not in Cali. but from what I've been reading unless you don't mind swapping out long tube headers before inspections you are pretty much limited to shorty headers. as far as brands IMO the JBA shorty's are pretty good (I had them on my car before switching to long tubes)
Another thing with the long tubes, it moves the cats from their original position so they may give you some shit at a visual inspection.

I'm sorry man, those are not Cat4Ward headers and are certainly not smog legal. That is their longtube design. For whatever reason, they showed a pic of their LT's. The shorties mentioned earlier in the thread have a CARB number affixed to them; these do not.

These are the actual headers that are smog legal:

Unless you like swapping headers every couple of years (I know no one who does), you will be stuck with shorties, which isn't the end of the world per se.

I'd stick with the stockers and add an off-road midpipe. Still not smog legal, but it's a MUCH easier swap, whether you pay someone to do it or not. You'll lose your mind trying to swap those headers out every two years.

And not to be a party pooper, but the CAI isn't smog legal either, but some guys will overlook that kind of stuff.

I was looking into some Comp cams stage 1 or Thumpers Stage II in CA. Can a tuner make me an "Emissions Tune?" to pass smog? I really like those cams but I'm a little worried about that damn smog test, and I'd hate to have to reinstall the stock cams in? What about the CMDP delete plates? would that throw a flag too?

Ive tried but this is the closest thread that comes up in the matter. Anyone in Cali running Hot rod cams that passed the sniffer?

Probably need to wait a couple more months to see. Guys who got 05's should be due up for smog pretty soon. I'm up next year.

Would be awesome to get a NSR cam to pass though.
