So how bad do you think my rear end is?

Hit the track today and toasted something in the limited slip. I binds up like it won't let the LS disengage. I thought the noise at first was my new control arms which are a bit noisy at times, even made a pass after i noticed it. But, when making turns the inside tire will bind and the let go. It doesn't always do it every time but most of the time. I was at least able to make the 60 mile drive home.

My car still is under extended warranty, any chance of it being covered with 4.10's in it? If not I have a friend at a dealership 2 hours away that will warranty it but don't want to have to make the drive to drop it off and then come back to pick it up.

Based on your mods in your sig, they definitely would not warranty it, even if the rear end was stock. That much power, and stuff will break!

unless your friend is willing to hook you up im betting the same. you might be better off canceling the extended warranty and get your money back from that to use on your car.

Take it like a man!
And while your doing that, get a refund on your existing extended warranty, to help cover the cost.
In the long run we all pay for BS warranty claims!

I wasn't expecting it to be covered. I know it should be voided. Just wondering if any of you guys have had any luck with it. My friend has almost my exact set up minus a built motor and his dealership has swapped out his clutch packs 4 times. If he can take care of me I'll get it done. I just don't feel like spending any more money on my car right now after going through 3 clutches in the last couple months. I know the drive train is next on my list to build up but it's going to have to wait another year until some funds are saved.

Shoot, I didn't know you could cancel a warranty and get money back. When I bought the car I had no plans to mod it but we all know how that goes. So i got a warranty through Ford. I paid close to a 1g for it so I think even if I get this fixed Ford still comes out with a profit.

On a tech side, anybody have any idea on how bad it is based on my description? Are we talking most like about a new LS or more?

^^^ ding ding ding we have a winner!!!!!

if your rear is binding up you have a side to side difference in your spider gears. your clutch packs and z spring are also probably toast. make sure you dont get metal throughout the rearend or you will be going for a complete overhaul before you know it.

SO, I knowthat particular dealership will take care of it on warrunty. You need to talk to Steve first though so he can set it up. If you have to spend any money on it, don't a buy a stock differential and expect it to last at all. You will burn it up again.

As other have noted, some dealerships are mod friendly. My friend has had the diff in his Whipple Bullitt rebuilt 3 times under warranty and his car runs 11.20's. I had a new 3650 put in my car under warranty and it makes 569whp. The dealership told me I was probably due for new clutch packs and they told me to bring it in.
