Can you run lock outs with VSR cams? Thing is I kinda like knowing the car will pull timing to try to save its ass if need.... Although Im sure thats a fine line too.... Also, what retainers and keepers did you go with or which do you recommend?

Yes you can run lockouts with the VSR cams but you must tell your tuner you have installed either (limiters or lockouts) so he can account for that in the tune.

I am running Comp Cams 26125-24 high load valve springs and 700-24 steel retainers.

Cole, can I re-use the stock cam followers going with these cams???? Should I replace them with new OEM?

i think your math is off.

4.6L is 281 cubes
I have a .020 bore 3.75 Stroke Crank and am 300 Cu in which is just about a 5.0
a 3.8 stroke will put you at 302 cubes.

336 cubes would be GT500 5.4 Territory

As far as cams, BBR stage 2 hands down

Thinking about those too... I think they require lockouts right?
BTW, I am wrong.... Forgot a 0..... It will be a 305 if it can be bored out.... Honestly, I think the block is done... The det damage is pretty deep...

I reused mine, but they were in excellent condition as the engine was non failed and had less than 10,000 miles on it when it was forged. I did replace all the lash adjusters though.
