Solid vs. Hollow Sway Bars

Ok do your bar is 15lbs. What all does it come with? Adj end links? Lateral locks? How adjustable?

I made that post to clarify weights.

Vorshlag showed a bare WL bar, in comparison to an Eibach bar that had bushings and steel saddles on it. I know those don't weigh much, but it all adds up. Heck, our bar would have shown 14.XX if I removed the wrapping and the bushings.

As for our bar, it comes with a bar and bushings. It is 3-Way Adjustable. I have given out the rates on many occasions. Do you know your rates?

We are also very close to releasing a completely new set of bars. Front and Rear, both hollow, both BIG, and both with a wide range of adjustment. We are just waiting on some custom bushings to come in, and be tested. We also have (3) different styles of adjustable end-links that we are currently testing.

My post was about the weights, bar for bar. Nothing else. That said, do you know the rates of your WL bar? If not, do you know the rate of change from each lever arm position?

Wasent trying to be a jerk was actually just asking what all it came with. To answer your question no I don't. I have not been able to get down to Vorshlage to let them set it up and talk to Terry and Jason about all of the pieces.

I just wanted to clarify - and didn't want this to turn into a "why XXX is better" based on pricing, adjustment, parts included etc.

Ask Terry if he can share the rates, if he knows them. I am sure they know the rates - it would be sweet if they could share. I'm almost tempted to tell one of my local customers (who I recommended towards WL for a few parts, BTW) to bring his bars in so I can measure myself to share with the forums, if and when the topic arises.

This is all interesting. I'm speccing out my purchases right now and I was actually planning on a Whiteline rear sway and LCAs and probably a BMR or Strano front sway bar... Depending on rates on the Whiteline.

Ok, first everyone who sells front and rear bars will tell you they are "matched" to what they wanted.

I tweaked my rear bar size a little once to effect a change I wanted in the overall range.

As for the "rates". Misleading in a few ways. Not all bars attach the same way (read Whiteline) which changes how much leverage is acting upon it. Yes you can jig a bar and get a number but it's not relevant. I'll be honest, I don't really care about the number in lb/in. I do it a little more old fashioned, I try various sizes and stiffness bars and figure out where I want to be.. and I want adjustable because not everyone is the same.

My front bar is 34.9mm (nee 35) like a lot of others. It's heavier than most hollows because I use a thicker wall tubing. It's still less than a solid bar, even a 32mm one. My front bar is about 20 pounds boxed up, including the new steel (and not lightweight crap like Eibach uses) U-brackets.

My rear bar is very light, the bar is 25mm but a .156" wall. It weighs next to nothing, the hardware to hang it and make it adjustable adds weight, but still it's not near a solid bar and it's not unsprung weight since I don't hang it off the axle, but off the body like most do (and Ford does).

To the guy who said maybe a Strano front and a Whiteline rear. Ok, I can do that, I do sell Whiteline... but I think we should talk that over a little first.
