Wanted to clear this up lol

In 2009, I built the loudest Mod 2 and Mod 5 vehicle, we set new records in VA and in a string of horrid luck, our mod 2 car had an amp fail during world finals and we placed 2nd in world using 1/2 the power we were planning on lol. unrestricted (un-fused) our single 15 Mod 2 system would idle a 150.1 @ 34Hz at the headrest on termlab, 151.6 A dash and 152.3 at the kick. 33xx clamped watts in a beat up 92 Celica lol. Mod 5 system idled a 154.7 @ 38Hz Headrest/termlab, 156.1 dash 156.9 kick (2 DP21's) on a VFL 1000.1. in 16.65 @ 36Hz. All systems were 12V systems without HO Alts.

Is that pump gas and what is your timing set at?

So far I've been happy with it the way it is. I don't even have an aftermarket deck in it. I don't drive it much and when I do I'm more into listening to the engine. But since it looks like I'm keeping it, I'm sure I will soon enough.

It's the first car I've not put a system in.

I thought about having him use my car to fab up something so we could make a few and sell them. We did that with my E46 and sold complete kits ready to install. The amp was already attached to the box and set up, all they had to do was plug and play. Pretty awesome setups. Dual 10s

I think that's what you should do with the S197. Maybe a single 10" and the amp across in the 'cubbys' in the trunk.

104+ booster

You'll be happy to know, that even at 145dB at the headrest, my system is crystal clear lol. DKS can confirm lol.

Makes your eyes water and your hair stand up and chills run down your spine from the shear clarity and power.

Welcome to the forum, bro. I'll have to send you some links of cool threads to check out. .

I'm sure he can hook it up.

If it's not built in by hand or here to test or for a customer, it wont be found here lol. I picked up the 12" Revo's for 280 per, and they make short work of 13W7's and are 1/2 the price, as does the 3HP composite cone 10" Proto $230 lol. When JL can figure out how to use the full excursion potential of their designs and makes them a bottomless motor geometry I will have a few. Till then, they remain mass market 2nd rate woofers to me, better than most of the mass market crap for sure, just not on par with the stuff I prefer. Original TC/AP equip has no mass produced equivalent, a 12" Neo (thick neo tall 3HP) axis will eat a critical mass UL12 for breakfast and is 1/5th the cost lol.

Brand wise, only thing I recommend is Incriminator Audio (Nick is a killer dude) Dana Audio True Bass Solutions, Original TC Sounds/AP Daber Audio, Hemp Acoustics, HiVi, Morel, Dynaudio, Jantzen, Seas, Fostex, Atomic, RD. Everything else is either full china or about to be. I liked AQ till the new line-up :(

DC Audio is okay too but their QC is questionable as is T3. 3 outta 6 drivers I have ordered from T3 were fked and I picked up a DC lvl 4 10 to pull TSP's they had used the wrong coil and at 1" P-P travel it bottemed out, have to pay shipping to and from for them to fix it and 35lbs from VA to NV and back is very unfriendly when I had to pay almost retail for it. Super low BL on their insanely large motors as well so all that ferrite isn't fully charged. BL on my Lvl 4 10D2 in Series was 17TM, Fs was 47Hz Qts was .42?? That makes for a nasty soundling driver even if it didnt have coil issues

Sounds good although my current set-up is lower end stuff compared to what's out there... Only running an AVIC Z2 upgraded to Z3, and BA S85s, and some RAAM Mat. It would be nice to have a little bit of bass.

Amp finally came it. Did the install today. Here's the finished product installed. Very nice sound. Hits low and clean. Not terribly loud, but damn nice for a 10 in a truck that size.

I had to put in the brackets for reinforcement. They don't look great, but we off road and it needs a little extra security.

ugh, shoulda left more room between the port and the side, amp on that side would have def been optimum :(

You said 4"+

I have 7" (lol) The pic is misleading, I see where it looks like it's right on the fender well, but it's not.

That's all the length of 4awg I had anyway. That was my only option for the amp unless I spliced in more power wire.
