Try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I use these on my cars windows and my boat. It removes spots, bugs and just about anything else you can think of. Don't bear down real hard with it. Just wet the thing with some soapy, warm water and then clean your windshield/other glass with light pressure. Do not, however, use on the inside of the glass if your windows are tinted. Will screw your tint up with a quickness.

Use some polish. When I bought my car, I had the same problem. Meguire's Ultimate Compound, Swirl X, or even M205 will bring them right off.

Basically, just buff the glass just like you do the paint.

Arm and hammer baking soda, wet a small sponge and pour it on the sponge. Just use light pressure on the windshield and the spots will come off easily.

Triple 000 steel wool ........
1st spray on a Very Heavy Coat of Glass Cleaner (Heavy).
Then take the Triple 000 Steel Wool and go over the entire (Outside) glass.
Don't go Crazy with rubbing real hard. (Not Necessary)
Keep the windshield WET with the Spray Window Cleaner.
Might take more than once.

That is what we used in the Detail Dept. for New Vehicles.

There is a product called Wink, its found in grocery stores and hardware stores. Its used for removing rust and stains. It worked great on some cars I have owned in the past.

Regular white vinegar on a damp cloth will work for most water spots on your windows, If the hard water spots are to bad for vinegar to remove use CLR or Lime a- Way. You can get all these at Wal-mart. I have to use Lime a-way or CLR on the lower unit of my boat motor after running it in a lake with hard water but the vinegar will usually remove the spots on the hull of the boat.

From yet another glass spot post.

Well here is a little tip ya may not know about.
Over a short amount of time your windows will build up a layer on the exterior surface.
It consists of pollution, oil, dirt, and a variety of other stuff. This will be more prevalent if you use the drive-thru car washes due to the clear coat protectant (which is useless BTW) they spray on.
This layer is hard and the majority of glass cleaners will not remove it.
Run your finger over your glass and you can feel it.
So here is how you get rid of it:
Use Bon Ami cleanser. NOT Ajax or any other brand!!!!
Bon Ami is a very very mild abrasive and contains feldspar (The only brand of it's kind), so avoid your paint.
But it will not scratch your glass at all.
Wash your window off and on a wet rag put the BA on it to form a paste consistency.
And polish your glass. You will feel the BA cut the crap off the glass.
When done rinse it well and wash your car.
It will blow you away how much cleaner your glass is.

As a last resort use CLR on a rag and spot clean the spots.
DO NOT get that stuff on anything else.

I put a few coats of Rain X on my windows when I first got my ride. I nmoticed that in the sum they were streaky. I could not get them clean of the Rain X off. I called the company and he asked where it was mad. Turns out it was very old. He told me never to buy more than one use because it went bad. He also said that the only thing the staff ever found to remove Rain X was Soft Scrub cleanser. I tried that and it sorta worked. I may try some of the suggested ways on mine even though my problem is not water spots. P.S. they make a 0000 steel wool that is finer than 000.
