I just had my spydershaft installed and there is a small brace about where the H is in the exhaust that goes over top of the exhaust and ties the tunnel together. On the lift if I were to put it back on it would scrape. Not sure if it would have on the ground, but I took it off and left it off. There was nothing in the insructions about it. Did I do the right thing by removing it?
Love the shaft. No vibrations and couldn't get over how heavy the stock one was.
Thanks,
Joel

I heard the spydershaft vibrates like a biotch with an automatic, but then again i only heard this from one person. Anyone else running this DS with an Auto?

Something sounds wrong there as that is not normal...

There is a lot of people running Spydershafts( manual and auto )...

I am pretty sure Ron will chime in once he reads this thread...

Vinny - there are a few instances of that happening. I know Dave (aka LawyerDave) had this issue, but many guys have not. I believe that Ron from SS originally developed the SS for the auto.

I've had no vibration issues on my auto. The tunnel brace did rub a little at first, I just used some washers above the brace for a little more room - problem solved.

You heard wrong.

I had a slight vibe at 65, otherwise it is much smoother than the stock unit. Doc rotated mine 180 degrees and it is perfect now.

It is one of the best mods I did, and yes I have the automatic transmission.

Hope this helps.

I have the "Steeda" one in mine, and I have a slight vibe over 110, but I attribute that more to my gears than the shaft itself. Easily took a .15 off my 1/4 mile time too. Great mod for an auto.

Yea Dave, I spoke to lawyer dave about it and he was pretty adimant about me not purchasing the spydershaft. He also said that when he was having the issue that a lot of people on the forum were as well. Seriously, if I knew that I wouldnt get any vibration, it would be my next mod. I just dont want to open a can of worms with it, ya know?

How difficult is the installation? Whats involved in the install?
Thanks for the help guys- hopefully im not jackin the thread.

Vinny - remember that Julio had the same shaft... not the same model the actual unit! and had no issues.

the install is not hard (i didnt do mine) but its around 40-60 mins max from what I've read (and paid for labor)
