I recently have began to delve pretty deeply into my 07 gt, it all began with some phaser noise and well I somehow have ended up having my heads ported and I am installing new camshafts as well. My question is relative to timing, I am aware I need the crankshaft in the 6 o clock position with cylinder 1 at TDC, all I need to worry about with the cams/phasers is that the intake valves for cylinder 1 are fully closed as they would be for the power stroke? I’m in a bit over my head with the process so if anyone has any suggestions as far as to making sure the cams are in the right position relative to the position of the crank, please let me know!

IIRC the position of the mark on the phaser for chain link to line up to, goes upwards on each phaser?

You can just grab the cam directly behind the phaser with some vice grips and ease it around, or could remove the followers and do it by hand if your paranoid about it

Right hand camshaft mark at the 11 o'clock position and the Left hand one at 12 o'clock position. Depending on the duration of the cams, you may need something to turn the cam into position. Bullett cams have a flat part machined between a couple of lobes that you can get a thin-jawed crescent wrench onto. I had to run to the tool store to grab one to hold the cams to torque the phaser bolts.

It seems intimidating reading about it but once it is in front of you, it isn't that bad.
