Big difference btn 3 months on a ship and 6-7 months in storage, and not sure about Germany but in Ontario Canda they spray roads with Brine that will eat metal, so unless you rustproof storage best option if you can.

I've been putting my car away in the garage for winter for 14 years now (Novemberish-April usually). Only things I do are disconnect the battery and put some sta-bil in the tank. I change the oil in the spring, although this year I'm changing it before because my oil temp sender in the pan is leaking.

What I bought for the tires. No handbrake or gear since I already needed alot of throttle to get on them. No way it's rolling anywhere by itself on even concrete.

Filled up the tank up to the brim and let it idle for a few minutes to have the gas tank EVAP do it's thing. Removed the wiper blades.

And now it should all be good.

Funny enough, Project Farm on YT just did a 2 yr test in fuel stabilizers.

Based on corrosion protection alone I'm probably going to use Sta-bil when I put my bikes up for the season

Put on winter tires and don't stop. The dinosaur juice won't get sleepy if you light it on fire.

Leave the fuel alone unless you have bad fuel or the car is going to be in sub-zero for a while. If it's inside, the few winter months isn't going to cause you a problem. Put it on jack stands if possible. When it's time to drive again, change your fuel filter if you're worried about the gas, and go.

The ‘07 GT/CS is in climate controlled winter storage, so I fill up the fuel tank add Sta-Bil, connect the trickle charger, cover it, and say good night. The car has been stored this way for several years with good results in the Spring.

I have been winter storing the Fox Body for most of it’s life. Similar process with fuel system, but like several winters it will be stored in the home garage (split level where my wife’s car is in and out during the winter). I had good luck with using the Car Jacket at home and also in storage units that are not climate controlled. I remove the battery and in the spring trickle charge it before reinstalling. The Car Jacket includes desiccant packs to absorb the moisture. I place the 2 California Car Covers on the car, 3 moving blankets, lastly the Car Jacket, zip it up and say good night.

Both approaches offer good results.
