Resurrecting this to get a question answered....Do you use the Koni supplied strut nut or OEM one? I bought OEM strut nuts than Tasca said was also a Automatic Transmission related bolt. My Konis that I'm assembling have a supplied strut nut and the nut's thread to be finer threaded versus the OEM's thicker threads.
The OEM won't even go on. And the Koni one spins on free. The Koni has a blue liner near the top of the nut the same as the OEM one with the red liner; only differences in the nuts is that the OEM had a built on wide and flat bottom base to rest on the strut mount surface; while the Koni is tapered and slightly rounded on the bottom edges and uniform in width from top to bottom.
Also how the hell do you tighten this bolt when it's recessed into the Steeda HD strut mount cavity (it sunk in unlike the flush OEM ones). Some say use a impact; but directions everywhere say definitely don't do that. Ford's torque spec varies between 40-50 ft lbs
