I'd rebuild. You could end up with issues from the used transmission. You would know what you have when its all said and done.

its a dd but i have a backup, so i can live with the down time. this crossed my mind too, never know what you're getting used. Would a loca trans shop be sufficient or would I be an idiot to go anywhere other than libert or patriot or whatever theyre called?

Do you have a local speed shop, one that deals in mostly mustangs? When i had my fox id have them rebuild my transmission. If there is someone that people trust to rebuild then go there. I would ask alot of questions and find out what kind of warranty, brand of parts they use.

I just picked up a 3650 with less than 3k miles on it. If you can find a good used low mileage unit it's cheaper than a rebuild.

If you want true piece of mind, get yours rebuilt. I talked to this guy in Atlanta and he seems very knowledgable about the 3650 and seems reasonable.

Wow, $1100 is steep. You can find them used with <30k for $350-$500 depending on mileage.

An 09 trans would bolt right up to the hydraulics/shifter assembly in a 05 right?
