Bet that's a fun one to sit through.

Fucking brutal, but totally worth it. I love this piece so far.

I would if i even had a clue where to start haha.

Just sit down and talk with an artist, most of the time they can pick your brain, find out your hobbies/interests/passions and they can throw out ideas. Also, spend some time on tattoo forums, they have sections dedicated to showing off their work. See some different styles, learn what makes a tattoo good or bad, etc.

Good idea. I know a few people who are tattoo artists. After i "finish" my car i'll start looking into getting something done.

my latest part of my sleeve. Its an angel for my daughter Zoe since she's the angel in my life. The little red guy down at the bottom is a sour patch kid. If you have seen the sour patch kid commercials "first they are sour, then they are sweet" that is my daughter lol. My wife and I call her that so its just kind of a funny reminder of her in this stage in life (almost 2 yrs old)

That's what I figured, its not exactly in the most forgiving area. Gonna be a really sweet one when its finished though, the line work is already amazing.

This guy is an absolute artist. The entire tattoo was sketched on to get a rough idea, then done free-hand. I certainly appreciate the kind words, and I'll be sure to pass on the compliment to the artist!

I wish there was someone around my area I could trust enough to be my go to artist. All of my tattoos have come from a different state, there's a few established artist around here but their shops or customer service isn't the best.

I think that what people are trying to say is that a tribal tattoo is very overdone, and can usually be found on the Jersey Shore type guido's.

Your body of course, and if that is what you want, go for it.

I understand what he was saying. And that's fine his opinion. Maybe I should've said tribal like tattoo. I'd like to try and incorporate some Native American stuff into it though like a bear claw feathers and some other stuff since I have some Cherokee in me

Do what you want to do. I don't get ink based on wether or not i think others will like it. If you like it thats what matters.

Tribal is so out dated that Kap came and got this chest piece right after the Superbowl from one of my artists:

Some more examples of tribal which is not stuck in the 90's.

The examples above are more Polynesian then tribal to me. I'm like the above when I hear tribal I think of solid black.

true it is like poly, but it has the outer edging like tribal but it's just not solid and it's a bit more technical than typical tribal, theres also a hint of moari styiling in the above but like i feel it's inside a more technical tribal style. it looks a hell of a lot better then what i had imagined at least

The tribal I was talking about is what nick posted. I figured when I said pec and shoulder tattoo that's what comes to everyone's mind. At least that's what I think of
