texans i need help

ok so im a complete noob when it comes to emission testing and i recently moved out of harris county that does obd2 port testing. i not live in Corpus Christi and im wondering if they do the obd2 testing and if i can run LT's with and o/r h and get away with it. by the way im here for college so can i register my car here or do i have to do it back in haris county because that is my "permanent residence at the moment". im completely confused on what i can and cant do here any ideas

You can make anywhere you live your "permanent address" You don't have to keep it in Houston.

I would think that Corpus doesn't do the same level of inspection as Houston, as it's a TNRCC thing with the big cities. Austin County (two west of Houston) doesnt do the same thing as Houston.

i just have no idea if they do i tried looking on the TxDot web site about it but they dont exactly spell it out for you. i just want to know if i can have 4 years of freedom with o/r LT's

Come to the RGV. I know at least 5 people that'll do it, won't ask you anything specific, it's 15 bucks IIRC, and since it's a fairly new car, all they ask is for you to turn on your lights, brights, step on the brakes and press the horn. That's EXACTLY what mine was in June..

They don't do the OBDII tests in Corpus. Only in the major metropolitan areas like Houston, Dallas/Ft Worth, Austin, etc.

I am surprised San Antonio is not on the list, but don't hold your breath because it will probably be on there soon!

It cost $39 to do the OBDII as well.
