I bought some ford stock a little over a year ago (3/share) and set the limit to sell when/if it hits 14/share.

Not the worst investment I have ever made, but it is the only time I have ever bought and sold shares. I had also bought some GM stock back then too for a buck a share, but that one didn't do too well...lol

Thanks again Ford, you have helped me pay off the last loan I have. (excluding my mortgage)

My wife and I bought as much Ford stock as we could last year when it was $1.81 per share (basically emptied our savings, but I knew it was gonna go up a lot). Bought some more later on at slightly higher prices as we had more money to invest. So, at $14 per share, our Ford stock is worth about 5 times what we invested. We bought ours for the long haul, so I'm gonna hold onto for many years.

I bought it under $2, but sold it a while ago for like $2.20 or something. Still kicking myself.

you made 20 cents, thats still a win.
I made more than that; I don't recall what I made per share, but I made about $80 pre tax. A small bet, for a small-time better. :damnit:

My best bet was on LYG...made about $1500 on that in a month or two.

Picked it up a second time for $2, after trading in/out of it at a little higher price and netting a profit as well. Still holding onto all of it.

I have wanted to get into buying stock as an investment for a while but I have no clue where to start. I would like to start off with maybe $1000 investment and see how things go. Anyone know where I can get some GOOD info on buying and selling stock.

When I sold my twin turbo cobra I bought 3800 Ford shares at $5.21. Until that point I had been day trading F for about 6 months. I didn't have any big money into it yet, but I knew it was going to go big. Once my Cobra sold I committed $20k to it and let it ride for a few months. The market got a little shaky again so I got out completely. I ended up doing REALLY well on F, but had some others that bombed so it was a bitter sweet victory. Looking back, I wish I had just put it all in F and left it. Even now at $14/share, Ford is still a strong investment and I'll be looking to get back in when I can. For now, I'll just have to keep watching the market.

I had a chance to buy into VRML in July of '09. I was going to invest a couple grand in them at $.04/share, but decided it was too risky. VRML, look at their history (It was at $34/share 8 months ago, has fallen a considerable amount since).

The broker kept asking me, "Are you sure?" I said, "It's Ford. They're not going anywhere and they didn't take Obama's handout because they don't need it or his bullshit takeover tactics. Yes, I'm sure."

Fucker was an Obama supporter too. Pissed him off but it made me happy to do so.

Hertz will keep Ford afloat worldwide...

bought at 4, bought same dollar amount in March, around 2.

sold half at 8, and again at 12, and holding onto the rest.

Look at their 2 year history. They were up over $30 at one point. Last fall they climbed from $.04 to $17 in about a month.

You can start up a "fantasy" account and start trading shares. They start you with $100,000. It runs parallel with the actual stock market so you'll be able to see what your decisions would actually get you. And it's all free.

It's also a great reference for everything/anything you want to know about trading.
