Those are the same shocks I have. You'll need a spacer (or a few washers) on the lower mounting bolt, because the bracket is too wide.

Went looking for spacers online..no luck. Where did you get them? Home Depot or something like that?

No, dustindu4 made them for me way back when. I was using some large flat washers before he offered to send these to me.

That looks good for now.

I tried running 26" tires but I just kept blowing them off the car at the tree. I have 4.10 gears so they didn't work for me. If you still have the 3.55 gears, you should be ok. I am using 27" right now and I still have some small traction issuse. I am going to try a 17" rim with a 28" tire in a few weeks.

Anyway, let us know how it works out...video is always good

There must be something else mixed into that equation to cause you issues... 4.10s and 26" M/Ts were awesome for me. I even ran them with the KB once without issue.

That wasn't with M/T's. They were Sumitomo HTR Z 2's I am switching over to 28" M&H after hooking up better with my 27" Pirelli street tires...

OK....(special thanks to G.W.B., first thing he's done worth thanking him for..)

So far today I bought: (gonna be wrenching for days on all this)

CHE 4 Point K-Member Brace w/Torqe Limiters V8 Poly
CHE Anti-Squat Brackets
CHE Upper Control Arm
Strange S6004LM Shocks
Lakewood Watts Link System (not much more than a high end double adjustable panhard bar and panhard brace, so I just went with it)
Boost A Pump
3.4" Pulley

Going to get all this and once installed, head to the track once. See how I do with just this stuff to measure how much improvement in my 60' I got.

Before I buy the slicks, does anyone think I stand a good chance at jacking up my rear end with them at the track? I'm not planning on doing anything to the differential/gears for now and don't know if bias ply slicks are too much of a risk at my power level or when I go to the 3.4 pulley at about 440-450rwhp. If they are a big risk, how well do the M/T 3743R (radial) compare to the 3743 bias ply?

Sound like a lot of stuff...Should be fun.

You have a 8.8 rear with 31 spline axles as stock hardware. Guys with SN95 / new edge cars that have smaller rears or IRS are upgrading to the same thing you already have. They are good rears.

Also, BUY and INSTALL C-Clip eliminators. Every time you get on the track there is a chance something is gonna break. Axles are on that list of things to snap, but at your projected power level, my money is on U-Joints. LOL

OK...

Lakewood Watts Link = Installed
Strange Shocks = Installed

Holy crap what a difference in handling. Only went out and lightly tested it for 15 min and came back to check for problems. Didn't see any.

On a side note, LAKEWOOD SERIOUSLY SUCKS AT INSTRUCTION MAKING!!!!

Sent me the "most current" instructions, same as on the web, and they are for the old design of the product. Needless to say, the new brackets are way better, but you have to install it a lot different. So Luckily, it took about 3 times longer than it should, WOOHOO>>>

anti-squat brackets, k-member brace with limiters and UCA = MIA at the moment...

Oh...and the Lakewood Watts Link I have is there brand new design (like 3rd Gen of it). The guy actually tells me, Well, I'm not sure exactly - I didn't know this design was even released yet. Talked to the guy for about 45min tring to make sure I put it together right. The axle mounting brackets are a lot beefier.

it looks like it hangs low...how much ground clearance do you have at it's lowest point? Is it the lowest item under the car like the pictures show?

Yes, those brackets are kind of low. But since there at the axle, I was thinking over a speedbump or such, it won't matter cause the tire will go up. Through a big pothole, that could be very bad. It's not as bad as it looks, but it is a lot lower.

Once i get the anti-squat brackets on there, I think they and that LCA end will be kind of low too (roughly the same), but people don't seem to have an issue with them. I'll be avoiding holes for sure.

I did see one issue this morning in the sun and a clear look at it. The passenger side bracket is not completely perpendicular. Was hard to judge it exactly with the back wheels up on ramps, the angle threw me off a little.

Got my tires warmed up this morning and took a few of my normal curves and such, that shit is well worth it.

Don and you guys with the Strange shocks...what setting do you guys use for around town? 5 is fine for me, but It's a little harsh for passengers (i.e., Wife)

For a long time, I never changed mine from the track settings... full firm on the right, and 3 clicks less on the left. I kept them like that all the time. But, since I haven't raced in 7 months, I have them set on full soft right now.

Tune = Installed

CHE K-Member with Rod End Limiters (ordered Poly but they sent Rod end) = Installed

CHE UCA and CHE Anti-Squats Arrived....

Getting ready to install the Anti-squats tonight, and NOW I see that most say not to use them unless your car is lowered...mine is not and prol won't be.

Don is the dissenter and uses stock springs and anti squats like what I want to use....How did it work out for you? The thread discussing it wasn't clear on a final outcome and what hole you went with finally on the steeda bracket you have. Since I only have the one hole on the CHE, it looks as though I will have a decent, but not extreme up angle on the LCAs. They are pretty close to level now, but when I went to the track, i was squatting like a SOFAB. I have the strange shocks in there now too though. And I'm making more power now for sure. What ya think Don...go with the Anti-squats ..or wait?

I see no reason not to add the anti-squats and test it out.

I tried all three locations on the Steedas last summer and when I quit racing, I had them on the lowest hole. But, the car wasn't running right, so I feel like the results were inconclusive. Since I'm now going to be adding coilovers and the BMR anti-roll bar, I'll go back to the middle hole for the initial set-up as I dial it all in again.

Messed up my shoulder, messed up my left elbow, cut my thumb, but.....

I got those damn anti squats in. Right one fit like crap at the hole...CHE mentions you might have an issue "because of manufacturing irregularities" haha, oh well

I went from LCAs pointing slightly down to pointing slightly up now, perfect.

Took the car out and warmed it up, practiced some launches, some hard braking, MAN WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Almost no brake dive since all the additions, Car just GOES. So fast now it just about frickin scared the crap out of me. I couldn't stop giggling like a little girl for 10 minutes. What fun.

Now for that damn UCA. Looks like a PITA.

It's amazing what happens when the transfer of energy is used to move the car forward instead of twisting the chassis and suspension all over the place...

AYUP,

I smell a "having fun" video in my future. There are some nice big vacant parking lots on old Fort Ord...I'm going to have to go draw on them with my tires a bit...

Got a chance to test some more today....WoW.

I had a knucklehead in a WRX STi pull up next to me at the normal spot people seem to on my way home. There is a stoplight that is 2 lanes, on the other side of the intersection it immediatey goes to right lane merge into left lane. Somehow, I just knew this dude was going to race past me on the right and cut me off....Well I just couldn't have that out testing my mods now could I.

From launch, almost zero spin and perfect weight transfer feeling. By the other side of the intersection I was a car length, by the first curve about 5 and by the straight about 9....I slowed down let him catch up some and then pulled hard again. I slowed down to make my right turn and he finally gets there and flys by. All I could do was chuckle. Man having traction is cool!

alright god damn't...i got that PITA UCA in today...Whew!

I'm actually done with mods for the moment...damn, now what? LOL

I didn't get done it time to head to Sac or Infineon for Wed night. Maybe I can get their Saturday or next Wed.

I see why people replace that UCA now...after putting in the CHE piece and looking at the stocker...it's kinda sad. Then again, most of the pieces have been, especially the stock LCAs.

Thanks for all the help on this and other threads.. I love this forum and the smart people and help.:thumb:
