LTX, looks like there was a lot moisture wherever you were painting your pieces. I actually wrapped mine with the material. Came out sweet. Time consuming but the looks are worth the effort...

That looks like the fucking top of a brownie. I looks like its way too thick, like you used bed liner or something. Definately not a clean surface.

I bought a sheet of this a long time ago and just got enough time at home to use some. I bought the pre-made dash kit years ago, but I may pull it off and use this. The mat finish is preferable as I've had some instances of the sun bouncing off the airbag cover and blinding me.

I bought one of the Grant wheels and did the spoke trim, but also wanted to do the window switch plates. I finally got them, but it took a couple of tries on the first one. If you're trying to do anything that has compound curves without a heat gun, you're in for some frustration. Actually, a hair dryer would probably be better because this stuff doesn't need much heat to melt. I'll get photos if anybody wants them, but it will be tomorrow.

LTX that's a THICK ass coat man.. WTF is that ? plastidip ?

Buy you a can of paintstripper spray from autozone or whatever store you have around there. It's like $7. Spray it one and clean it off and redo it. It's not the end of the world

That looks WAY thick which trapped air that wanted to escape hence the pits.

I scuffed everything with 320grit.. primed it with plastic-primer.. and sprayed rust-o-leom flat black.. maybe too thick of a spray..

first, 320 grit ? might as well scuff it on the ground. 1000 grit is enough. then use adhesion promoter not primer. Get you some duplicolor acrylic since it's the best cheapest paint you can find in an auto store, and spray THIN coats. And wait between coats. 3 thin coats is enough. then spray one or two thin coats of satin clear and you are done.

I finally did the di-noc dash mod. I had a black dash stock, so I didn't do any painting. I left the chrome as it was. the passenger vent and airbag.......went fine. But the gauge bezel and center vents were the hardest for me....and I have a few tiny places that bug me but its clean and not noticeable if you are not looking for the mistakes. I wouldn't mind trying again if it wasn't for the fact that I have to remove the airbag again to re-do the center vent. I'll post pic later.

And now for the mistakes.........
-Gap on one of the vents
100_0934.jpg

-Loss of adhesion in a tiny place touching the chrome gauge bezel
100_0935.jpg

-Failed joining of two pieces of di-noc. I tried my best.

I finished mine a while back also, here are some crappy pics... Did the center stack on the wife's vert, but she didn't like it so I threw it on the hard top... I started doing the vents in the DiNoc but decided that I'm gonna paint them the same color as the car... Pics of that to soon follow...
