It's not fanboy attitude. It does have some minor flaws but unless you've played it you're just speaking from ignorance.

exactly

While you can make comparisons to COD on things like graphics, and the fluidity of the aiming system thats about it. The gameplay mechanics, strategies, and flow of the game are completely different. You have the real quick encounters with NPC's and pilots while on the ground, and then you also have the drawn out firefights between titans. Its really a lot of fun. Attrition and Last Titan Standing are both completely never before seen game mods. While they do have similarities to other game modes they produce different stratagies to win. Also, burn cards tend to make things interesting. Nothing like going "oh shit" one someon uses a titan burn card at the beginning of a match.

Now I will give you some things that they screwed up on.

No private lobbies... That was a BIG mistake and hopefully one they correct SOON. This means there is no custom lobbies at all, which would up the play value immensly. They also need to add more modes. A mode with no NPC's would be nice, and maybe a horde mode would be pretty cool too.
It would have been nice to have more customization for looks too. It would be awesome to be able to put some badass paint scheme on your titan and weapons.
The campaign mode is a joke, it has a little narative in the loby while while waiting for the countdown for the next match, and a little bit of naration at the beginning, during and end of the matches that basically get lost in the noise of the game itself. I still couldn't tell you exactly why these two factions are fighting... That being said, I would spend 99% of my time in regular multiplayer anyways.
There have been very few complaints as far as bugs and things of that nature. Only thing I have noticed is with the party system we tend to not be able to hear eachother every once in a while and have to start a new party.
Everything seems pretty well balanced as far as weapons and pilots vs titans, although i'm sure there will be slight tweaks and changes here and there.

I love seeing the fanboy attitude. Anything and everything about the object, game, person, etc is the greatest gift from god.

Believe me, I am sick of COD. I stated it was not a bad game, but the industry just doesn't seem to have the motivation or innovation to make the next best thing. No I don't know what it would be or I would be making it myself. Something more than just the plain old areana CtF, Deathmatch, etc.

The only game i am looking forward to, but am nervous about is Destiny. It seems they are going to try and do different, but who knows how well it will actually turn out.

The FPS genre goes though that though. This is all to the best of my memory of some console and some PC shooters lol

Look at Wolfenstein 3D, DOOM, and Duke Nukem 3D. Essentially they were all the same, it was start with a pistol, find as many big ass guns as you can and blow enemies to pieces, find keys and solve puzzles. Wolfenstein started it, Doom upped the creepy gore factor, then Duke brought the attitude and gore.

Next big thing was WWII shooters, again most of the time, it was start with a pistol and a good chunk of them you could carry as many weapons as possible.

Then came Halo and changed FPS forever, you could only carry two weapons, the 3D was amazing multiplayer was intense and insane(hooking up a few TVs was a blast, many many hours doing that haha) Halo kind of brought in the "shield" system that almost every FPS uses now.

Then came COD4 and then modern military shooters were all the rage. the controls, the perks, the weapons, being able to choose stuff to fit how you played, the customization it was all new.

and here we are now, waiting for the next big trend, the FPS genre goes in spurts where 1 game does it right, everyone follows untill the next big one comes out.

At least thats my opinion on the matter lol

This a better explanation of the game, thanks. I have played it briefly but I do not own it.

when you first play and aren't used to the mechanics people do tend to stay on the ground and play COD style. As you can imagine it probably doesn't take too long to realize this is a bad stratagy, especially now that everyone has been playing the game for a while. For a noob I would suggest starting out with the smart pistol and getting as many grunt and spectre kills as possible to contribute to your XP and team points in attrition. Once you get used to moving around the map while not on the gorund move up to one of the SMG's or the carbine so you can take on other pilots much easier.

One thing I really like about the game is you don't have the guys with an entire team just camping one spot on the map. It would be very dangerous to do that in this game. A single titan with a quad rocket can take out a group of pilots camping in a corner in seconds.

It's nothing like the others. COD is the most worn out, tired game franchise in existence. Halo is amazing so I won't go into that.

This. Play it first, then judge. Titanfall is the best FPS I've played since Halo 2.

Well see if that lasts. Halo was played for years, not weeks haha

Although that was right before games were 100% based on multiplayer

I have a feeling Titanfall has staying power. As str8edge mentioned, the strategy is 100% different. It's breathing fresh life into a tiring genre. I, for one, had abandoned CoD all together. Same shit, different game. Halo will always hold a special place in my heart because I remember the first time I played Halo 1 at a friend's house. Shear amazement doesn't cut it. I've been hooked on it since.

oh yeah, when I first played Halo at my cousins house it was like a dream come true. I LOVED playing through campaign co-op with my cousins. I was so jealous of their xbox. Then when I reached college I got one of my own and I would hook into the local intranet and we would get multiplayer matches going. it was great.

yeah, the newer halo's didn't really do it for me though. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the campaign enough to finish it but it just wasn't the same as the epicness of the first one. I can't wait for Destiny though. That should be awesome.

This game just doesn't do anything for me. Yes it is ok, but FPS on the same maps playing over and over gets boring. For $60 I would expect a nice single player but it doesn't even have that. It would be a nice $20 game.

Only game that has hooked me in the past few years is Dota 2. Every match is different and engaging. Evolve looks awesome and I'm looking forward to that.

I remember the first time I played Halo. I was like holy hell I need to get a XBOX right now. we would go over to my one buddies house, hook up some xboxs over a link cable to a couple TVs and we had some epic gaming sessions. Epic hour long games of CTF on Blood Gulch

Yeah, 4 was kinda weak in parts and I honestly didn't finish it. Losing Martin O'Donnell on music actually took away some of the epicness? of it. I'm still looking forward to the next one though.

Well, they aren't for everybody. I do find your comments a touch funny. Every FPS that is played online fits the same basic format. Same maps over and over. At least this one adds in some never before seen elements and changes the game a little. To each their own.

Yikes. Battlefield is terrible. Lol. I played the beta for Battlefield 3 for approximately 30 minutes. That was 29 minutes too long. Didn't even bother with 4. It's just another Call of Duty.
