Torque limiter

Has anyone installed a DIY torque limiter with stock motor mounts & k member. I know CHE make a kit for there K member.
Back in the day we used a piece of chain & a turnbuckle!!
Pics would be great
Lets here your ideas pros & cons.

I'd be carefull what you use as a torque brace. I've seen CHE's brace with too much tension crack the aluminum block. IMO a good set of motor mounts is all that is needed. Could beef up the tranny mounts as well if you're making a torque monster.

That pic you're talking about is from a guy over torquing his mounting bolts not from the limiter. and that is the one and only occurrence of anything related to the torque limiter breaking. :party36:

I've been running one for years and tons of passes with no issues, mounting bolts torqued to only 30ft-lbs.

I think stock torque spec is 33ft lbs. Keep it around there and you wont have any problems. Over torque anything and you will break shit. The CHE with stock motor mounts is fine for tightening up things. DIY is probably not worth the time trying to get it to do what you want it to.
