Thinking about upgrading my Torque convertor now that its out doing some engine work, Theres 105 k on my stock 06 GT and i dont like the way its so revvy low down and lacks bite. I plan to do a manual conversion at some point but availability of second hand gearboxes etc is an issue here in Ireland. I Hope this doesn't sound stupid but I want to make it sound as close to a manual as I can if possible? I know very little about Torque convertors as my country is big into manual transmissions for older performance vehicles and no real info here on Torque upgrades. Interested in any options or comments on upgrades members have done. I have a limited budget of less than 1000 dollars due to the engine work.

Not big fan of TCI, had some bad convertor experiences with them decades ago and QC is probably not the same. The TCI unit will probably be fine if it suits your needs but personally I would go with Precision Industries or Circle D. This way you can choose your stall speed for your needs.

Yeah I remember when TCI & even B&M were one of the best back in the 70-80’s but definitely there are other manufacturers that build much better quality TQ converters & transmissions.
