I still have some debugging to do (more on that later) - so I'll hold off on the full description with pics and such...
First - as I mentioned over the in the spec supertwin thread - the 1100 ft-lb clutch is a light switch... I expected it to a degree, but it is definitely harsh/too-harsh for street use - perhaps I should put on the perelli's and just let them spin NASCAR style (the MTs just bogged me down)?
The clutch was a pretty significant distraction from the trans - I was having to be careful about where I went - to make sure I wasn't going to get stuck in traffic and hold people up... leaving from a light at this point is like driving a stick for the first time and unless I am willing to do a 1/4 mile burnout - "more gas" isn't an option (it might help if the engine had some more torque...).
Steeda shifter is astonishingly stiff... A lot of work rowing through the gears - I am hoping that losens up much like the pro5.0 and GT versions I found all the gears, but 5th is definitely hard to find with such a stiff shifter...
Now the problem...
Something is loose (at least I hope so) - I get a NASTY resonant vibration in 4th. I can hear a touch of it in the other gears - but it is a hard metal-on-metal virbration/rub...
Did a quick pass underneath on the lift and did not see anything obvious - it was pretty hot under there, so I am letting it cool off...
Here's hoping its something simple - it really sound ominous...
