Traction control switch

I was just looking at an old post on another site where a guy was talking about how his GT didn't have a traction control switch. Mine doesn't either, but it most definitely has traction control.

I was looking at some radio bezels and switch panels with the TCS switches on them- I noticed the panel with the TCS switch on it only uses a single harness plug for the whole panel. If I get a new switch panel with a TCS button on it, will I be able to turn my TCS on and off? I've been wondering this for years but never really looked into it, but if this is an option I'll most definitely do it.

I never heard of not having a TCS button on the dash in 10 yrs of being involved with the S197 platform

Doesn't make any sense whatsoever. As the first S197, I ever owned was a 2005 GT premium built in February 2005 which included the TCS off/on switch/button left of the hazard light switch in the dash. From my understanding, TCS was standard on all S197 models from the very beginning

It's a 2005, I bought it used in 2011 from a wholesaler, I believe it was a repo car and I'm the third owner, that's all I know about it. I think it's an early build though, I believe I saw a 2004 build date on it somewhere.

Anyway, no it definitely has no button, just a blank where it should be. That's why I'd like to try installing a button panel with the button and see if it works.

I haven't. Sometimes it lets me hang the tail out a little but most of the time it just says "No fun allowed" and cuts the power.

I considered getting it turned off in a tune but I like it when it's raining. So I'd really like to install the switch.

I think an actual on/off switch is a smart decision. It mentally puts you in the mode "hey, if I don't lift or be on point, I will wreck this car"

It may have just been a mistake too. I have a convertible window switch panel in my coupe from the factory. I turned the up function for the rear windows into a trunk release.

Ghunt, look and see if the wires for the traction control switch are there. I suspect they are. Then you can either get the factory switch panel or put a momentary button in there.

Side note: I have my TC button hooked up to a start only circuit. So when I start the car it turns the TC off but is still available at the touch of a button if I get caught in a monsoon.

There are four wires for the TCS switch within the overall hazard switch assembly and the colors are:
Pin 1 Black - Common
Pin 4 Violet - TCS indicator lamp
Pin 6 Light Blue w/White tracer - Feed from SJB
Pin 7 White w/Pink tracer - TCS switch

All of these are in the C2039 connector for the hazard switch assembly

I wasn't aware of the GT-H rental cars having no TCS off/on switches. You would think if all the retail cars had them included as standard equipment from the factory, then why wouldn't Ford also include them in the Hertz rental cars as well? Just doesn't make much sense IMHO

Can you post a picture of your Center Stack and console? Maybe it is there and you are possibly overlooking it?
