Traction control constant on

Hello Everyone

I am having an issue with my 2005 GT. When I try and give it any throttle in gear, the traction control light comes on and I go nowhere. I give it throttle and it doesn't respond at all. I was able to log what was happening in the ECU and the pedal position reads fine but commanded throttle does not change. Any thoughts as to what the issue could be?

I know you have to shut it off when you do burn outs by pressing the button
It won't be off all the time . For snow its important to know this .

First step is to always scan for trouble codes with a quality scanner

As above, start with a code reader. I would put my guess in as something with a wheel speed sensor giving faulty readings.

I am thinking this is the case. Previous owner did a bunch of stuff, including gt500 front calipers. It’s possible the speed sensors are incompatible and giving a bad reading to the ABS module. My plan is to disconnect them and see if that will fully disable T/C. Since it’s a track only car I’d be fine with it off.

I had the same issue with a 2007 V6, and it turned out to be the transmission. As others have suggested, run your code scanner to see if there are any. Good luck.

My plan is to disconnect them and see if that will fully disable T/C. Since it’s a track only car I’d be fine with it off.

Wheel speed sensors don't get changed with the GT500 brakes so incompatibility isn't the issue. Doesn't mean they aren't bad but I've never had a failed wheel speed sensor do anything more than trip a light and disable ABS/TC.

I’ve done the GT500 4 piston brakes and also the 6 piston S550 brakes and I’ve never had TC or ABS issues. The sensors were not changed when I did either brake setup.

It’s still possible that you have a bad sensor, but the brake setup alone should have zero impact on your current issue.

Have you tried to drive around with the TC off?
