Finally home from Brazil, with real internet at home. I will be checking the car out this weekend. Nickoli, I can't see that vid, not sure why. Is it working for others?

Ok, cleaned the MAF with no change to off boost power/driveability. I have found no leaks or loose connections anywhere. Suppose I will leave it up to TSS and Mike to sort out.

*edit* Leak/connection check was visual only. I didn't do the pressure check yet. I've not had time to get set up to try that.

Also, I never saw you mention what size turbo it. I don't assume anything.

I got home from Brazil yesterday morning and have been none stop with family obligations. I had a few minutes this morning, so I cleaned the MAF. That's all I have had time to do so far. Besides doing a visual inspection.

It's a 76mm turbo.

There's part of the problem. I would take a look at what color the wastegate spring is to confirm it really is supposed to be at 16PSI max.

I have talked with the original owner and Mike at Powerhouse. The car has/was run, and tuned with 16psi.

The larger the turbo the more laggy and less responsive it will be.

Check to make sure the turbo(s) spin freely. I have seen where a turbo where the bearings are starting to go bad will cause the car to drive like crap, not spool as quick, and not make as much boost.

Remove the intake tube/filter from the inlet on the filter, carefully (the compressor fins are can be sharp and or easily bent if not careful) give the compressor wheel a spin with your finger (engine not running of course) and see how easily it spins.

When spinning it, puch and pull on the center of the vanes and see if there is any play. A bad throust bearing will cause the boosting pronlems you mentioned.

My thrust bearing went out on mine and I had a turbo shop rebuild it.

I know on my diesel truck that when I have a exhaust leak not only does it not build boost as fast and it also takes a higher rpm to build it, but my exhaust temps go through the roof. I mean couple hundred degree up. Does your system have a air-air cooler? If it does maybe your air to air has a small leak. Try to take brake cleaner or starter fluided (be carefull not to get on paint) and spray around your cooler and see if your car don't rev up some. Thats a easy way to find a leak and it has worked for me serveral times. Hope this helps. Good luck

Small update. Took the turbo inlet off. Turbine spins free. No end play.

Next I am going to take off the inlet to the TB and check the connections and inspect the piping to the H/E.
