ok guys...here is the latest.

went down last night. ran both the brenspeed tune and the bama tune. the brenspeed is faster by almost a full tenth. this was back to back runs 20 min apart. traction was not an issue

brenspeed w/ 28" tire (2600rpm w/2step)... 5:43pm
60' = 1.997
330' = 5.628
1/8 = 8.617 @ 82.20 mph
1000' = 11.225
1/4 = 13.441 @ 102.35 mph

bama w/ 28" tire (2600rpm w/2step)... 6:07pm
60' = 2.004
330' = 5.683
1/8 = 8.689 @ 81.91 mph
1000' = 11.300
1/4 = 13.516 @ 102.28 mph

swapped back to brenspeed rest of night...

brenspeed w/ 28" tire (dead idle launch)... 7:18pm
60' = 1.981
330' = 5.632
1/8 = 8.630 @ 81.92 mph
1000' = 11.241
1/4 = 13.453 @ 102.62 mph

brenspeed w/ 28" tire (2000rpm NO 2step)... 8:30pm
60' = 2.031
330' = 5.689
1/8 = 8.692 @ 81.88 mph
1000' = 11.305
1/4 = 13.524 @ 102.16 mph

i then swapped to a 26" diameter tire as suggested from other. the car felt better, looked better and launched out on the tire nice for about 20' and then setteled in...traction was fine and i thought this change really helped...the car felt great. results below.. trap rpm with 28" was 5300 trap rpm with 26" was 5800

brenspeed w/ 26" tire (2000rpm NO 2step)... 9:48pm
60' = 1.980
330' = 5.612
1/8 = 8.617 @ 81.28 mph
1000' = 11.235
1/4 = 13.449 @ 102.55 mph

brenspeed w/ 26" tire (dead idle launch)... 10:14pm
60' = 1.985
330' = 5.614
1/8 = 8.613 @ 81.40 mph
1000' = 11.225
1/4 = 13.432 @ 102.80 mph

ok...so the reason for different launch styles was strictly experiment. i have the 2step wired to release with brake light (brake pedal) i noticed a hesitation of the 2setp releasing the rpms...figured maybe this is my little bit of 60'. think about 2600rpm, brakes being released (car begins to roll) then a 1/2 second later the 2step releases the rpms so the motor could accelerate...figured it could be. so i tried the other styles and turned off the step by cranking the rpm limit up 9900. well, after seeing results thats not the problem in my opinion.

the tunes being wrong?....i cant see both companies being that far off. i was dissapointed to see the bama race tune perform less than the brenspeed unless.....

the convertor? i physically did not feel the lock ups as mentioned by both bama and brenspeed. they claimed i should feel them. is the convertor slipping? which would explain the car not reacting to the bama lock up schedule. or the brenspeed for that matter.

for those who are reading this for the first time. there is another thread...but basically here are the cliffnotes.

2006 gt automatic with a PTC 3000 stall convertor
sct-3 with a brenspeed 93 and a bama 93 race tune
c&l race cold air intake.
4.10 gears
spydershaft 1 pc aluminum shaft
pypes x-pype
15" jeg stars (skinnies in the front)
15x8 with mt et DRAGS.

my calculations and according to all manufactures listed (brenspeed, bama and PTC) the car should go 12.80-90's @ 105-106mph with a 1.80-1.85 60'.

well it aint...and im trying to figure it out....with help from you guys if possible.

thanks.

So, you only tried the Bama tune once? And that was on a hot engine?

And what was the weather like... specifically the DA?

Don,
I ran the car 2 weeks ago with the bama tune and it only mustered a high 13.40.

yes the car was hot....so were all of the other passes that night, as the car stayed relatively consistant through out....as you can see.

im not giving up an dougs tune at all...but last night and with whatever is making the car perform badley, the brenspeed ran better.

the DA hovered around +400 most of the evening and dropped as far as 200.

i think i like it...lol. it is definently a drivers aid. i bought no spare parts. wired it directly to the brake light switch near the pedal. if this were a stick shift car...i would wire it to the nuetral safety switch for the clutch (the switch that allows you to start the car when the clutch is depressed). i dont know why people use the door security switches (reed switch?)... im sure someone else could clear that up.

Because we don't want to backfeed 12v into the pcm and possibly fry it.
I want to make the least amount of modifications possible that interact with the cars' electronics. $1.00 switch vs $$$ PCM

thank you for the response. i wasnt aware that the brake light did that. but if it does i agree and will most likely do the same type of update.
