Team UPR brought our 2011 5.0, the Stealth Fighter, out to PBIR for some after work Test n Tune fun on Friday night. With UPRsharad rowing the gears of the MT-82 manual transmission, it ran 10.89 @ 128 on 19"/20" wheels, at 3870lbs with driver.

For nearly 20 years, UPR Products has been known for Streetable Performance, and the Stealth Fighter is no exception. It is a true "Daily Driver". The GT is equipped with UPR's Pro Street Suspension Package for 2011-14 Mustangs. With adjustable struts & shocks, UPR Pro Series Lowering Springs, and Eibach swaybars, our 2011 is actually set up for Handling- but this suspension package is quite versatile, as demonstrated by the 1.63 60-foot time on 19" drag radials. Remarkably, with UPR's Pro Series 93-octane tune, it pulled 31.7 MPGs on the two hour trip to the track, and it was raced on the same tune, same tires, and same fuel used to drive it to and from the racetrack.

Notable mods include a UPR-spec ProCharger D-1SC at 10lbs, JMS PowerMAX, DeatschWerks 60# injectors, UPR/SCT Pro Series 93 Octane Tune, UPR X-pipe, Roush Mufflers, and 305/35-19 M/T Drag Radials. Otherwise, the car still sports its factory engine, manual transmission, and rear end!

heraring you shift into 5th and still on a stock manifold clearly means you have the wrong size tire on the car.. Get a 28" tire on there and the et will drop and the trap speed will be higher!

That mt-82 rips!

I can't complain. It still has the factory shifter and even the factory oil in the trans! I tried powershifting 5th and it didn't seem very interested in that, but it's soaking up 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear powershifts like it's nothing!

Probably true for a drag car... but this is not a drag car. It's a daily driver, set up for handling. I live an hour away from Sebring International Raceway, and I'm actually doing an HPDE there this weekend. I only took the car to PBIR just to confirm that it actually IS a ten second car- Which will mean more to me when I demonstrate that it also works well at Sebring, and gets 31.7 MPG on the way to and from the racetrack. It's pretty well rounded. :)

yea true.. but the wrong size dr on a smaller wheel when you go on a road course? if you already go through the trouble of swapping to a 19" rear wheel for the "track" why not do a lighter 18" wheel and a 28" dr? still drives fine, and will be able to work with the same suspension! I understand the car is a DD or a street car, But so are the other 10,000 cars that use the same combo but on the right size tire.. I understand your list of things the car does.. Just saying and stating the facts about what the car would and could do if you set it up with the right size tires.. for the road track are you putting the 20" wheels back on?? So swapping between sets is not that big of a deal than??

Thanks Kelly! I know the car had 1.5Xs in it that night, but I had visions of spider gear chunks running through my mind, and the subsequent tow bill... Didn't wanna risk it! These cars sure are a lot of fun though. I can't believe it dead-hooked a 5,000 RPM launch on 19s.

Side note indirectly related to you... I heard murmurings of a Fort Myers vs Tampa meet up somewhere in Mexico. I'm not sure if that has happened yet, but if it does, we should both go. Seems like you guys have multiple TT Coyote's up there now! I don't have anything for those ProMods, but I'm probably quick enough to be a camera car. :D
