VCT and oil brand

would running other brand oil than what is oem, i think mobil1, or should I be ok as long as the viscosity is the same grade? Would I see wierd timing issues if I ran royal purple?

Just run whatever brand you like as long as its 5w20.

I thoguht that long ago i read that higher hp cars have issues with that, guess I didnt recall correctly, all good. thanks =]

I ran 0w20 Amsoil in my 2007 GT for 3 years with no problems.

I ran 5w20 for a while, now I run 5w30 and haven't had any issues out of either one.

Both Amsoil, no issues yet.
