Anybody on here ever dable around with some vinyl wrap. Was thinking about getting some carbon fiber wrap and doing some trim parts and maybe a few other little misc things. I see 2d 3d 4d but in pics the 2d looks better then the wrest. Ebay seems pretty abundant with the stuff any experiences with the elcheapo vinyl

The 3m di-noc seems popular.

I did my side scoops, steering wheel spoke inserts and interior door handles. I had pretty good results but since then I removed it and had Jeremy hydro-dip the pieces. I will post up pics of both later tonight for you.

Takes patience and a hair dryer: I found the more angles the part had the harder it was. Some people do a great job with it.

I did buy the sheets off ebay.

I've done a few things like my aggressive chin spoiler with the 3m di-noc carbon fiber, brushed black alluminum, and now with 1080 silver. They are great stuff.

I ordered my stuff here. http://www.metrorestyling.com/default.asp?m=0

Here's a few pics.

Just like anything you get what you pay for. There are some vinyl out there that just wont last so watch out with some of the stuff on ebay. Stick to a 3m product, or better (in my opinion) Avery, which we use at the shop I work at.

I made my own fender hash marks out of vinyl wrap and wrapped my dash and shifter bezel in 3M di-noc carbon fiber.

Here is what is possible with vinyl. I wrapped my entire car in a 2 tone color scheme (metallic black, metallic yellow, metallic red accent stripe, printed black fade). EVERYTHING is wrapped: rims, wiper arms & cowl, molding, louvers, all painted surfaces.

Awesome work. That's what I want to do to my hood. Either all black with silver on the vents or vise versa and blackout the roof. I'm not sure which way would look better. What do u think?

Any chance your car is a DD? I really want to have mine wrapped, but I'm worried about how it will hold up to the 4 seasons in PA

I'm a graphic designer/installer by trade. In my professional opinion, as long as you can closely match the silver paint, I would go with silver hood & black for vents. You could also do a darker silver or charcoal color for hood with black vents & continue with the same on the roof (charcoal/dark silver).

Mine is only daily driven in nice weather during spring/summer/fall, no winters. During winter months it will be torture with all the salt, debris, snow/ice.

You can't see it but the whole front of vehicle from hood scoop down is also wrapped in 3M clear paint protection film. I also have on side skirts, wheel wells & behind rear wheels. This would help make it thru all 4 seasons but is quite expensive, you should probably get paint in your situation.
