so i go to get in my car and i brake a little but and it felt funny. then i stopped messed with the brakes again and it felt fine. then i started going agian and then i hear a beep and my traction control and my ABS light come on and the traction control button is lit up and it will not turn off. i turrned around and then i checked for DTC's and there were none. started the car agian and the lights were still on.

i have halk dtc-70,60's on from the track. could i have burnt up the ABS or some thing i haven't driven it since there track.

There were no DTC codes after you experienced the problem and saw lights on the dashboard? I really doubt this problem has anything to do with your brake pads. When you say you, "Stopped and messed with the brakes again." What does that mean?

Can you describe what you mean when you say, "when I brake a little it felt funny"? What did you do to your brakes to troubleshoot the situation? I would think if your ABS was inop you would have a DTC code to reflect that. When was the last time you flushed your brake fluid or check the fluid level?

By funny I mean they had a bit mote pressure to them than normal. And when I stopped to see what was up I just pressed on the brakes and was seeing if it did it agian. And there realy are no DTC codes I think I may just have to take it to a stealership. Because I paid for a hpde this weekend and don't wana be out a bunch o money

I just flushed my fluid the beggening of the month and it is still full

What had more pressure, the pedal or the stopping power?

I'd consider pulling the pads off and taking a look. Check the brake booster hose.

what is a booster leak and how would i know

i got in my car and took it to the dealership and the light turned off so i dont know what the hell is going on.

and when i say more pressure i mean the pedal was stiffer then it felt like i pushed through a blockage and it went back to normal

what type of fluid did you put in? how hard have you been on the brakes? i had my ebrake light coming on in my old 97 mustang one time. it turned out i bent a pad from a hard stop

definitely take them out and have a look then. i locked up the wheels on my old car and it ended up bending one of the brake pads as strange as it may sound. the event may have warped a rotor or pad causing the computer to try and warn you

My car did the same exact thing.... i talked to one of my buddies who is a mech at one of the Ford dealerships (also drives a KB supercharged 04 GT) out here and he told me to top off the brake fluid and unplug the sensor in the Brake fluid res. and reinstall it... i did just that and my problems went away so give it a try... booster leak is when the master cylinder leaks fluid into the booster and causes some trouble... i doubt its that tho, because it will cause a loss in pressure

how could i check it

If you are losing vacuum from leaking within the booster, there will be minimal boost to braking efforts right after turning off the engine. Severe vacuum leaks in the booster will cause rough idle problems, but you should be able to hear the air moving through the booster...a simple pinch off of the vacuum hose to the booster with a pair of pliers can do wonders for diagnosing large vaccum leaks in the booster.

I highly doubt the car tracks vacuum to the booster...but don't know for sure and doubt that is the issue at hand.

More likely, the ABS unit is having issues. I don't know if the ABS system is smart enough to know there are fluid flow blockages within the ABS pump/valve unit or not. One would hope so. I figure a valve stuck in the ABS unit causing excessive pressure and triggered your light and the hard pedal symptom.

Could your recent brake fluid swap caused this? Maybe. Did anything fall into the master cylinder while removing/replacing the fluid? Maybe some trash/debris jammed a valve shut...

Either way, taking the car to get the codes read is good money spent. All you need is a complete brake failure on the track!:dead2:

Let us know what they say,

kinda sounds like a collapsed line, with the hard brake pedal... but that wouldn't affect the traction control... ABS unit is the most logical IMO...

A booster leak will cause the pedal to feel harder and require more physical effort to stop the car. Essentially you lose some of your power braking assist due to a vacuum leak. This does not sound like your issue.

Hard then soft...funky light action while hard but no codes saved...hmmm

Sticking pads due to heat build-up at the track? Did the pad stick hard enough to cause the ABS traction control to loose their minds?

Take a gander at all four rotors and pad sets. Look for bluing of the rotors and bubbled paint on the pad backing plates.

If the pads bound up and stuck, then you could have boiled the fluid in one caliper, creating bubbles and your soft pedal.

Or, you still have ABS pump/valve problems...
