Went to the local track (Louisiana) this past sunday. We finally had some decent weather come through, at least compared to the heat. I didn't run the car NA, long story. Da was about +900.

The Rundown.

06 auto convertible, 4000lb race weight. JLT110, CMDP, BBR stage 1's, UDP, OR-x, PI 3600, 4.10's and Jegs stars. HSW plate kit, 125 shot running c16 on an NX fuel cell while spraying (on a button). I still pull timing as I would on pump gas, I just like the safety net. Big thanks to Cody at Stang-Hi for the tune.

Running 275/60/15 MT's all stock suspension, unhooked front swaybar.

60' 1.63
1/8 7.36
mph 93.83
1/4 11.55
mph 116.97

Best mph on the day was 118.

I'm pretty sure I have another tenth or two in it with a proper cool down. The next step is suspension and a bigger converter, I guess.

I bought the convertible thinking the local (2) race tracks would kick me out if I went too fast, therefore limiting how much I would do to the car. I've run about 8 11 sec passes at each.

Come to find out, they couldn't care less. :screw:

Well they should be kicking you off --- especially being a vert. Are they NHRA tracks?

Regardless, that is a great ET for that mph. Great ET for that weight also. Congrats.

Thanks! I was pretty suprised when I weighed the car. A friend's 2010 base GT weighs 300+lbs less with much heavier wheels. The goal is to get an 11.3x out of it in great weather.

No complaints though about the tracks, I just thought it was funny. I want to be able to continue to race the car, and am not calling them out on it. I needed a good title for the thread.

Also, it may have more to do with the frequency I bring cars other than the Mustang to the track, and the workers familiarity with my wife and I. One track is NHRA, the other IHRA.

Damn impressive for the weight and not getting kicked out.

Those are the times I'm looking for next year and I weigh in at about 3675 with me in it.

Thanks, I appreciate it. The car made 417/440 corrected on a dynojet if I remember right, to give you a reference.

Damn. I should have bought a coupe. My wife loves the convertible though. She gets a fair amount of attention in it especially at the track. It works pretty well towards weight savings as she weighs about 120lbs less than me. I have to drive the heck out of the car to beat/match her times NA and on the 50/75 shot, haha. She is a bit nervous to run the car on the 125 shot, so its just me on those nights.

If the car needs the last little shove in the right direction, I'm not too proud to do the driver diet mod to get there.

Looks nice. I would imagine that is not a cheap setup. I had a chromoly cage with removable swing outs in my recently sold Civic. It made life a lot easier, but I don't know about ever doing anything that extreme with this Mustang.

Damn good times Ej. Makes me want to get some dr's & a 100 shot. These cars seem souch more complicated to deal w/ as far as nitrous than my old red truck. Hell i slapped an off brand $400 kit on it, ran it a bunch for 5 yrs, never datalogged it on spray & still ran 11.9-12.0's in the ole truck. These cars seem like a pain in the ass to deal w/ as far as a nitrous kit.

You have a nice set up going on my friend, keep it up. I want to get back to the track soon myself since this cooler weather is here & its not hell hole hot outside

I made it complicated because I'm paranoid, lol.

A video of the pass. Skip to 6:00 to see my pass against the 511 big block Monte Carlo. http://www.youtube.com/user/95CSL#p/a/u/0/-ZRKLbl9RBg
