so a guy I work with has a 240sx with a little turbo, he says he spanked a sn95 with a built 302 he wants to race what do you think? All i have is a cai, centerforce dual friction, and 3:73 gears.

With out knowing all his mods, its tough to say. These cars can be quite nasty on the street with the right mods. Go to a track and letem rip.

I agree, I also need money! firestang you're right i think i'll run him just for shits and giggles. I can't see how he beat a built v-8 with other than the small turbo on a 4 banger. He says nothing's done to the enginge other than the turbo, we'll see. Gonna meet him at the track tomorrow

I agree those things are pretty light, typical ricer though i asked him questions he knows nothing about gears!

What engine is it? If its a KA24 with a turbo... its probably not a "little" turbo.

If its an SR20, they come turbo stock, so if he upgraded it then hes probably pushing a decent amount of HP, considering the stock turbo with bolt ons makes about 230-260whp in a 2700lb car

Its the sr20 stock turbo stock everything by the way he didn't show today rather dissapointing oh well. Even at 230 horse that light of a car should really rip can't wait for him to show and actually run me. I totally understand power to weight, but what about torque?

damn it kaldar, you beat me to it! lol! typically the 240's are no joke(as long as its done right). with either the KA or Sr motor in it, with the proper boost settings, it could be a challenge.

Still the same thing, correct me if I'm wrong but since it's such a light car it doesn't need 300+ ft lbs to move it

there are more turbo 240's around here than i can count. there only a handful that actually run something worth my time. with a stock sr20 turbo swap it prolly only runs 14s. depends on his suspension too cuz most be run tons of power and neg camber so they can drift. that combination would be horrible for any kind of straight line racing.

So I really wanna run this guy just to see what happens but the douche won't show. we were supposed to meet up, he wouldn't answer the phone, called the next day same thing. I'll see him at work hopefully tomorrow, but the fact he didn't show makes me think he's worried.

For what it's worth I ran a friend of mine who had an sr20 swap in his s13 with minor boltons (boost controller, exhaust, fmic). We ran from 40mph and by the top of third we were still about dead even. My car was stock with 3.31 gears.
