I'm not sure this is the right sub forum for this but here is the question.

I noticed that after receiving new end links, that they weren't like mine. I have a 2008 GT. Does anyone recognize the endlink on the right with plastic ends?? Sorry the pic isn't very good.

The one of the left is the endlink that connects the sway bar to the strut....the one on the right looks like an aftermarket version of it.

The one on the right, as you can see, is fatter and has plastic ends. Do you think it would be ok to use them in place of my stockers?

They are stamped Ford Motor Company. They were thought to be stock GT endlinks. I haven't been able to find anything like them just yet by searching bing.

yeah thats the first I've seen of them....but that doesnt say much. Im not a suspension expert by no means. PM Sam Strano about them. He is the man when it comes to suspension work.

I believe they are off either a Ford Taurus or Ford 500. They look like the plastic endlinks.

Definitely doesn't sound like anything that will work on my car. I'm going to take them to the dealer and ask them to properly identify them unless somebody else does first.

The one on the right is identical to the original endlinks on my '05 GT. Maybe they only come on the early cars (05-06?). Mine are thick just like that with plastic ends. I've beat the tar out of them and they've been just fine.

The guy I got them from has an 06 V6 and he said his were like my stock endlinks. Are these really plastic? They sure look like it. Just some real damn hard plastic.

Screw it!! I'm just going to go to Ford and get another like my stock. I lost one of them so until I do, I can't put my swaybar back on.

There isn't a part number printed or stamped into/on it?

the plastic one

did you notice if i it's exactly the same size? it might be an updated part, or you have the updated part on your newer car (i think it's an 05/06 part)

you ain't gonna snap that thing. it doesn't catch much force as it's not a primary suspension component, and it wears out just like the metal ones; the ball joint on the end gets play.

it came on many fords.. taurus is the last one i changed b/c it was worn out and it was same but white plastic

i wouldn't trust them, i've never had or owned a car that had plastic sway bar end links

What do you think will happen if they do break? Lol, it's not like the wheel will fall off, he would just notice a little difference in handling as long as he isn't racing at a roadcourse.:thud:

It's pretty hard to read. I have to go to the dealer to get two nuts anyway so I can bolt them up. I'll just take these with me and have them checked out. They will probably just sit in my garage as a spare incase someone needs them.
