What is this part??

I know it is a brace (black bar across pipes) but it`s like a part off my grandkids swing set not very strong. Wondering what it`s bracing, if anyone knows what it`s for please clue me in!! Thanks

It's the poor man's safety loop...lol

It looks to me like nothing more than an exhaust hanger.

Source of rattles.
There's already a driveshaft loop further forward.
Only thing it could do is hold up the exhaust pipes if they break or separate.
Low-hanging bar that is sure to hit tall speed bumps!

Looks like a do it yourself piece. u already have a ds safety loop, i say ditch it! as it offers no structural support and it will drop some weight lol

Thanks for the input, it was making noise behind the pass seat at 90 mph, after three days of checking pinion angle- d/s - uca -lca - exhaust - and everything in that area I took it of and the noise was gone!!

Mine has one, but its upside down from the one in the pic it think. unless im thinking of the carrier bearing. Driveshaft safety loop i think.

Here you are, jacked my car up to take a pic real quick. It was hard to get a good pic but its just a safety loop for the carrier bearing. This is how it comes from the factory. Had the same thing on my last '05

My 07 doesnt have it and ive never heard of or seen this until now.

I have a 2005 and it had it.

yup my 06 had it too but facing up over the exhaust but that came off when the powerhouse d/s went in

Thanks for the pic, I took mine off now for the 1 piece d/s. It must have been reversed when headers and xpipe installed.
