What the hell is that smell???!

I jump in my car like I do every morning and it stinks! What the Hell? I wouldn't say it's immaculate by any means but I don't eat in it or even allow people to drink in it. It smells like stagnet water under the carpet.

Could there be a small leak coming in somewhere that's built up in the floorboard? It's pretty bad. I've given the carpet a good feel but can detect no moisture anywhere. Anyone else have this problem? I'm considering pulling the carpet this weekend to see if I can find anything. I don't understand how the smell could get that bad from one day to the next.

Damn.

Even when I did transport food it went in a sealed plastic bag and in the trunk. My wife thought I was crazy but the 1st 3 years people told me my car smelled new. Now it smells like ass! What a bummer...

Can I take it to a Ford dealership and have them fix this? Any idea what this will cost?

If you were in warranty, you would get it fixed. I've got a new carpet from it. They just did every TSB on it you could do for mine. I don't think its leaking anymore

If its not that leak it could just be your AC... Happens to cars in Phoenix (hot place) quite a bit.

Yeah,
Houston does get pretty hot but we've had pretty decent weather the last couple of months or so here. So, I haven't really had to use the A/C. Thanks for the input guys, I take the car in and see what they say.
