Thank You....
Are 15's OK w/ my 4.10 Gears????

its not the wheel size that may become an issue, it would be the tire size. If you get to short of a tire it could cause you to run out of gear, if you stick to the 27-28" tire height area you'll be fine.

Hmmmm I guess 501TQ is not good huh???
Your original post showed 501 rwhp instead of rwtq.

What skinnies are suggested?? Tire & wheel size??
Thanx
I'd go with 15x3.75 wheel with a 26" front runner from M/T, M&H, etc. Rear should be a 15x8 with a 27x10.50-15 bias ply ET Street from Mickey Thompson. The Race Star wheels fit with no grinding.

There are race cars running 8's in the 1/4 (maybe 7s?) on DRs, so they can be made to work. As far as S197s go, look at this list. There are at least four cars in the 9s on DRs, and many more in the 10s.

Don, anyway we can get a column on that list that talks about weight of the car? I think hat is just as significant a factor as the power adders. Not everyone will have it but it will be a nice reference point for all future posts.

Need to talk to Paul (psfracer) about that. He maintains the list.

Don't get you panties in a wad. He was poking fun at your typo: "523rwhp / 501rwhp". <<< See, no torque listed at all.

LMAO...Sorry, I did not realize I screwed up that typo. I am in a miserable part of my life right now. ;)

It's all Good.

OK, dug up my original post.....

Updated question
I have a chance to grab a set of FR500 18" Wheels with Nitto Drag Radials 555R on them. Size is 305/45R18.

I was told that these would be a good choice for traction at the track over the Stk 17's I grabbed w/ ET Streets 26x11.50R17's.

What would the height of the FR500's end up being?
And will they hold a launch w/ the Whipple 523rwhp / 501rwtq, & 4.10 gears?
Thanks All

I have the same tires on 18by10" and they look good imo and work ok,high 1.6's 60'. w/4.56 gears.I like them more for the street.the 17" et street work much better.

Thanks for the input.
The 18" Nitto's were mentioned to me, and I wanted to ck out feedback before I bought them.

So I guess I am back to either the 26x11.50 ET Streets on stk 17's I have, or putting 28" ET Streets on the stk 17's for an economical approach.

BTW I have been searching for a conversion calculator to figure our what for example a 26x11.5R17 would be in a metric size?
Any conversion calcs out there anyone know of?
THANX
