Looking under the car, There is not much room between the exhaust manifold and the cat. Where should the sensor and the new bung go? I still want to use the stock O2s too.

Thanks

You have to drill a hole and have a Bung Welded in the pipe before the cat. You can install it on the Drivers or passanger side does not matter.. I think it will be just before the front O2 in your picture. The Drivers site Fron O2 is on the Manifold not the exhaust tipe so most people put it there because there is more room on the H-Pipe..

This will require you to remove the H-pipe and Cats assy. and take it to a welder or muffler shop. the Bungs are avalable on line through some of the venders here on this site for under 10 bucks.

I suggest you take the sensor and find a spot where it does not hit anything, mark the spot with a sharpie, then remove the H-Pipe.

Ya, I wasn't too smart! I did mark it and then I welded it on without test fitting it. The angle fell 1/4 in the path of the manifold stud. So I couldn't tighten the h pipe back to the manifold down. Now I have to cut it out and add another one in the morning.

I know "measure twice cut and weld once"!!!

All above posts are correct.

I guess in this instance it was measure once, cut and weld twice hehe

BUT... you will only know the a/f of THAT bank. Need 2 sensors to know what both banks are doing... :shirlock:... or, just flip a coin!

Try not to interfere with the stock factory 02 sensors. In other words, try to install the new bung after the front factory sensor. You don't want the factory sensor to get a altered reading causing the pcm to change the fuel delivery on that bank.

This thread is not that old..

anyway, just got done installing mine:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G2995/?rtype=10

Install wasn't too bad. There is a setup phase that you do without the sensor connected and one with the sensor connected but out in fresh air. These test will have the led blink a certain way. When I did it everything was perfect. When I went for my test drive the led stays on(dont know if its suppose to do that. The numbers will move between. 18.0-23.0 which I think is fine.. but when I get on it (even with a crappy tune) it seems to hit 20 or 19?

1) can my A/F really be that?
2) I have a bung that was welded in, but there was no way in hell I could get it open. Since I have the stock H-pipe with cats gone I just installed it in the driver side O2 location. Can that be an issue?
3) Can it still be a wiring issue even though it passed the calibration tests? in the link should be a pdf.

looks like:
2 wires from controller and gauge= 12v switch

Led and push button goes to ground and other sides connected to black wire of controller

Yellow not connected on controller ( no clue as to what its for, just says option).

there is a wire that connects the gauge to controller

And last is 5 wires connected to same ground(which is connected to the engine block ground. (white/blue(purple with is the dimmer so it will stay bright)

I ended up installing mine after the cat, until my offroad H pipe comes in. I for the life of me couldn't find a suitable place to mount before the cat that allowed my to angle the sensor 10 degrees.

Lost, that looks pretty dang close to the Innovative sensor. I get 14-14.3 at idle and cruising, and 10.7ish at WOT. I'm boosted though so it should be lower. You should be no more than 12.5-13 non boosted at WOT. I'd try recalibrating the sensor. Make sure you do the initial calibration with the sensor out of the pipe. If it's calibrated with it in it will throw off the readings.

It definitely looks like the Innovative LC-1. Did it come with a software? like a cd or something? On the LM Progammer from Innovative you can set the parameters. I wonder if the fuel type is a different setting?
The yellow wire is analog 1 which can simulate a narrowband O2, the brown wire is analog 2 which is your typical 0v-5v wbo2. Both analogs can be re-programmed but you need the software to do it.

yea.. it came with a CD, but didnt know I had to do anything with it. I did the calibrations outside first and thats the funny thing.. all the led test came out perfect. On the controller there are 2 cables that have like a female head phone jack looking thing ma bob. haha. That kit only has the install info.. nothing on the CD or anything else.. haha I guess this is what I get for buying shit. But your right.. it is an LC-1. I'll try taking it out and recal it again.

When you do the free air cal, hold down the calibration button for 30 seconds. That's what innovate told me to do.

Yeah do another free air cal and see how it goes. If all your connections are good, the led light will blink slowly at first to warm up the sensor then stays solid indicating that its working properly. But your afr readings are a little iffy.
Also try downloading the Logworks/LM Programmer from Innovate's website and install it on a laptop. I'm pretty sure you can access the info on the dac since its the same setup as the LC-1. Mine didn't work right out of the box, fuel type was set to methanol.
Once you download and install the software on your laptop plug the black stereo plug into to the Serial IN connection(female end). Your kit should have a little black stereo plug looking thing, its called the terminator plug. Then plug the DB-9 cable(stereo plug end) to the Serial OUT(female end). You will need a db-9 to usb converter if your laptop didn't come with a db9 serial port, you can get the converter from radioshack. Once everything is plug into the laptop, set the car to koeo and open LM Programmer. It should detect the controller and you can see what type of fuel its set at and all your analog parameters.
It sounds like a pain in the arse but once you figure out, it works pretty good.

That might be it. Its too late to try now but in the morning I will give it a shot. I know I did not hold it down that long when I first did it. Maybe 1-2 seconds. I sent an e-mail to summit telling them to put more info on their pdf. Anyway, Ill try that and let you know.. Thanks guys very much! :thumb2:
