I need a aftermarket torque convertor I am blowing through the stock one.. I have narrowed it to between the PI triple disc, PTC triple disc and Circle D. The PI and Circle use new cores with billet front covers, the PTC uses stock core then cuts it open and modifies the fins , stator and clutches... I know they are all good just not sure which one to go with.. Both the Circle D and PI have a 2 year warranty with a free stall tune -up.. The PI is 939. the Circle D is 954 and the PTC is 550 plus a 75 dollar core charge..I just want a convertor that can handle a roots with about 9.5-10.5 lbs of boost, but dont want to sacrifice top end lock up.. Thanks ps this is for a 2006 mustang with a Magnacharger and a 2.90 inch pulley

Just to clear this, the $550 includes the $75 core....if you send us one back once you recieve the one we send you, we will credit you back the $75, and the total comes to $475...

Also, if you can post horsepower numbers, torque numbers, and other mods to the car, it is easier for a company to give you advice on what you need.

I work for PTC, and obviously we would like the sale. However, our converters are based on the stock core converters. They can handle UP TO 575-600rwhp. If you have future plans of a built shortblock, heads/cams, and/or more boost, and plan to make more power, then P.I. or Circle D would be your best choice.

Thanks,
Chris

If your goal is 9-10 lbs of boost, than save yourself some cash and get the TC from Chris at PTC, he just posted..I am not disappointed with mine..:highfive:

TC's, hell I go through those when my trans blow up. From the stock TC, I went with the Art Carr 3200 stall, transmission breaks and another Art Carr is installed. Trans break again and this time the stock TC is installed with mods done to it. It breaks and a TCI 3200 stall is installed and last only a month. The PI 3200 stall is installed and lasted longer than the others, but it breaks too. It gets sent in to be repaired.
Well just a few days ago my trans broke again. I heard the harden input shaft break like I heard before. the trans is still in the car and I don't know what shape the TC is in this time and don't care anymore.

Any vendors/manufactures want to use my car to test how long your TCs will last. LOL

Who has been tuning your trans?? Jesus..I have been at 450 whp + for a while with a stock converter and/or a PTC TC and have had zero problems...The stock converter was fine when I pulled it for a PTC one..
