Are the Ford Racing spark plugs that came with the Whipple HO kit a 1 or 2 piece design? How often should they be changed, nothing in Whipple manual about frequency.

My whipple manual said to change them every year along with the fuel filter. They are hto plugs gapped at .032". Two piece design. You won't have any problems with them, two piece isn't a concern. HTO plugs are all I've ever run with older style heads and forced induction. Just be aware that forced induction is hard on spark plugs and they need to be changed more frequently than an na motor.

What year is your car? Worried about 2 piece since there have been so many issues with 2 piece OEM breaking off. Would like to hear if other Whipple owners that have changed plugs have had good/bad experiences. Do you have any part # for those HTO plugs?

My car is a 2008 that was built 3 weeks before the change to new heads. I'm currently on frpp cnc heads that use the new plug design.

You will be hard pressed to find someone who has had problems with hto plugs.

Thanks for the part #, do most vehicle shops have the special gap tool needed to gap these plugs or do I need to buy one?

It can be done without the tool. FRPP plugs are pregapped to .032. The only ones I've had to gap were Autolite hto.

All you need to gap them is a vise, screwdriver or other hard, round tool, and spark plug socket. Here is a writeup I did for cjponyparts. They did a little editing with the hotlinks.
