Trying to retune my car but it keeps going to failsafe mode. It was tuned before fine with the Granettili(sorry) TB and I swapped the pulley from 3 to 2.85'' and added meth. Soon as you start to get to 3k rpm's it jumps to limp mode. ANyone else have or had this issue?

Is not about the amount of power but the Boost levels, the more boost you add the more air has to go inside. I was Ok at 15 psi and at 17 psi my HP line stays flat after 5300 rpms

well, for the most part you need more air to make more power, right? Accept maybe for Nitrous, since it's adding something to the air/fuel mixture to make it more combustible? a 500hp N/A motor would need a good amount more air than a stock motor, maybe not as much as a 500hp motor that's pulling air through some sort of turbines for boost (or, even more so, pushing the compressed air through the TB if the boost is happening before the TB, right?) but an N/A high power motor would need more air, mostly just the same, no?

At least that's the impression I was under. I could be way wrong :-D

I agree Daniel, However I don't think you need a TB swap at less than 10 psi . For stock '05 the TB gains are minimal. Our stock TB I think is even better than the stock 03 cobras and they come with a blower. Plus the only TB I would use is a GT500 or maybe a Black Diamond (need to adjust a couple of the tuning tables). GMS and BBK TB's are a POS as far as I know.

The reason you see limp mode is the difference in airflow vs throttle opening. I had the same issue with my BBK until I sent it back. As far as I know, no one has figured out how to remap that part of the program. Put the stock one back on as a check, but mine went away as soon as I did that. I read in a post somewhere that the stock TB was good to about 1,000 HP, because this issue has been tossed around a lot.

I'm boosted and have a built motor.

They guy who built it said they had the same problem with the stock TB and it went away with the new one.

I am trying to retune the whole car( new tuner because the old guy locked the tune and he sucks) The last guy had the same problem and spent many hours with it on the dyno. He said the TB swap fixed that issue before.

have you checked the voltage on the stock one vs your GMS? i know you already changed your TPS, but is it a factory ford tps?
