so I was rowin's nicely down the strip.....any my shifter broke. I thought I broke something internal, but it turned out to be just the shifter piece on the bottom that attaches to the linkage arm. snapped clean off and left me with no ride home. luckily my roadside assistance covered the tow bill and got it back to the garage.. here are some carnage pics

MGW was really great about fixing the issue. I sent the shifter off to them and they went through it with some updates of beefed up parts and bushing , obviously fixing the issue I had. the great thing was that it only cost be 9 bucks to ship it to them Monday. They called today and already received it, fixed it, and wanted to know what address to overnight it back to me! Now that great customer service!!! I didn't even buy the shifter, it came with my car. They know that and still no questions asked, fixed it! cant be that!

That happened to me on a 3rd to 4th power shift. It was a problem with their first or second run of the shifter. They did send out upgraded parts to everyone that had purchased one which I had not installed. Glad they took care of you.

I love MGW products! Even their interior pieces are sick. Its no surprise to see them stand behind their product, George is a great guy! Glad to see they came through for you.

No they didn't as I purchased a brand new MGW and never received any parts :)

I just sent mine on Wednesday and it should be there today. I called to let him know that I bought it used a few years ago but haven't put it in the car and was curious if i sent him some pics if he could recommend any upgrades or if I was missing anything. George told me to send it to him he will take care of everything and get it back to me. Talk about standing behind a product! Definitely got my business on the next one when the time comes. Starting out in a customer service oriented job the way he handles things is above and beyond.

I would never buy anything other than a MGW after my experience with them. They are top notch and you get what you pay for.

thank you guys for the kind words.

just a little history.

as you can see from the pics this had the small linkage on the bottom which only affected the first 50 units we sold. we sent out an upgrade kit for EVERY shifter we sold but some people did not install it and then sold the car so the next user was not aware.

this was a shame because this happened to 3 people i know of that had many hassles since they never were aware of the upgrade.

but glad it got worked out .

That is some excellent customer service! I had an MGW shifter on my 98 Cobra. The thing was so nice, I hated to cover it up with the shifter boot!

Sure would be nice if other companies had this kind of service.

MGW is a fantastic company and their product is second to none but my experience with them falls mainly outside that of their car parts they offer rather, charity events. If you guys don't know, a group of us in the NC/ SC area hold a few charity events every year (Gaston Hospice, St. Jude, WWP just to name a few).
We always reach out to companies to help with donations and MGW is always the first company to answer. His commitment to this industry has been outstanding and to us Carolina boys, his service to us will always be appreciated.
