Planning on a Windsor swap into my 06. Is there a header that will work?
Im doing the same swap but having problems finding engine mounts without buy a full k member. What are doing for motor mounts?Planning on a Windsor swap into my 06. Is there a header that will work?
No. old school 302 block from 70s or 80s. Im building something different and I like/ prefer carburetors. Do you know of anyone which makes motor mounts to put a vintage 1980s sbf block in a 2006 v6 mustang? I can fabricate if needed but would prefer to purchase if available. I appreciate your time. FredWait when you say windsor block, what exactly do you mean? I was assuming a 4.6 Iron block.
Because I like old school technology and hoping to utilize this forum to help. If you can help me I would appreciate it.... but I don't need your approval or your support. Nor do I want to engage anyone in conversation explaining why that I want to build something different. I'm not trying to be ugly but unfortunately people in a lot of different forums try to engage in conversation Just a challenge someone's builds. I'm just hoping that someone in this forum can assist.... i don't have timeI'm assuming it's an actual, old school, Windsor motor isn't it?
If so I also have many questions.. primarily why?
I guess complicated is a matter of opinion. Im 62 and been building cars my whole life. I prefer to purchase motor mounts which someone has engineered in correct stance, placement, and angle of engine/motor to ensure effective ujoint wear. Don't really have any pictures to take. The only thing I have is a Mustang, with the engine out of it. In a composite, small block ford engine. I'm happy to post pictures later. Once I get further in the build. I'm hoping to utilize his websites.I don’t think anyone is saying it’s not possible… impractical and more complicated YES.
There are a lot of old school and new tech experts on this forum. They ask questions in response to your inquiry to better understand your objective.
Post some pics of what you’re working on…

To jibber jabber. If you can help me, I would really appreciate it.If you can't, let me build my build the way I wanna do it.
Thank you thank you for your response. Yes, I realize anytime you put something online. You have to accept criticism. I just wanna build what I wanna build. I prefer, those that don't like just not respond to this thread... rather than challenging my build. So i'm building a lemons car, it will be carburetored. I currently have multiple carbureted cars, including a NASCAR stock car. I've never had any issues with them. Is it as good as fuel injection?Absolutely not, but it's what I want to do. I wouldn't think it would be too much of a stretch to find motor mounts. You can purchase tubular k members that will accept older windsor blocks... i'm guessing someone's fabricated. produced and engineered motor mounts. I would rather spend three or four hundred dollars on engineered motor mounts. I'm not a normal automotive enthusiasts. I'm hoping to utilize the experts in this forum for guidance. Sorry for the incredibly long post.Well, the Internet is a mostly garbage place so I'm sure you've run into a lot of shit about it. From my experience here you'll get the info you need, some people won't like it but the knowledge here is worth the occasional flare up of egos.
Personally I see the appeal and understand where you're coming from but it is an odd choice for most so you'll get questions I'm sure.
Is this a street car? Are you going carb or EFI kit? I'm curious to see photos also.
Thank you for your kind response. Yes, they do make k members but I'm hoping to just purchase the motor mounts. If needed, I can fabricate them.I just prefer the engineering to be completed on motormounts. Also I realized that i'm open to criticism anytime I post something online. I just want to build what I want to build. And I just don't need anyone to judge me as I wouldn't on their builds. I appreciate your time.I would think you need a k-member specific to your build. I can't imagine no one is making one. The last conversion we did was putting a 660ci bbf in a 67 f100. Bought a "mustang II" rack and pinion. The motor mounts were shipped loose so that we could adjust engine stance. IIRC, motor mount location on the sbf is towards the middle of the block. Mod motor is near the front. So you'll have to deal with that.
Hopefully someone else will chime in with better experience. Don't get discouraged with the naysayers on this site. They are mostly knowledgeable, and absolutely opinionated. They're just giving their concerns, which of course has nothing to do with your question. But this IS a conversation, and as such, you're going to get people speaking their mind.

thank you for your helpMaybe pull some mounts from an older donor. Probably have to cut them out. They might make you buy the entire crossmember. The problem will be finding a yard that hasn't crushed all their pre 90 vehicles.
