In verts it also helps with rear visability so you can keep an eye out for CHP coming from the on-ramps.

We just got our '12 GT which we ordered wingless because we're designing a rear wing for it. It's got a small lip from the factory, but the way the back slants forward just begs for something to make it jut back out a bit.
