OP car looks amazing, that's some great work. I'm looking forward to the finished product. Funny thing I went to HS in Norman, graduated 1963. I can't imagine what it must look like now.

very interested in the evap removal. was it a easy process? did you have to have it tuned to shut off the evap solenoid? anything have to be installed to remove the evap stuff (for venting)? I know junk in the rear weighs a good amount.

Thats some crazy amount of work to hide some wires... looking good tho man.

Street Rodders do it all the time, I get a lot of good ideas from going to the street rod nationals etc... same principals just newer body style.

Thanks! compliments from you are very respected, I have loved your engine bay from day 1 of joining this site! yeah, you would not recognize Norman now! I've been here for 23 years and I cant believe the changes since 1990.

Very easy process, venting is just left open above the rear axle as others have done on this site. Do an EVAP removal search, there are a lot smarter guys than me in here with very well documented threads. I just followed what others have done and have not had any problems so far. Of course I only drove the car a couple weeks before the complete disassembly started in these pics!

Thanks for the nice comment. I should be getting mine back on the road next week, from my fire damage. When I get it back I still have to get the underside of the hood repainted and then it will finally be fully resurrected from the fire.

Havin Fun Now!

Started trial fitting the wiring harnesses tonight. Looks messy but if you stay organized it's not as bad as it looks. I focused on laying out how the coil and fuel injector wiring is going to route on the driver side tonight. Also have pretty good ideas on how to route the cam pos sensor, fuel pressure, MAF sensor, and throttle body wiring all on the drivers side. DS A/C switch wiring (4 wires going off to the left in the pics as well as other A/C wiring) is being mothballed for now since I wont be putting the A/C back in until next winter....knee surgery has forced me to do the A/C delete for now. Not enough time to get it all done before spring time.

Nice job, I was looking under my hood trying to figure out a way to clean it up. These cars have crap running everywhere.

Side note, good luck with the ACL replacement. I have had the surgery twice on my left knee. It's a difficult recovery to say the least.

thanks man. the surgery went well now it's recovery time and try to get back in the garage as soon as possible. sucks because I was really on roll this weekend and having a ton of good ideas on how to route things. I will start posting more progress hopefully in a couple weeks

Looks good man...filling and smoothing the engine bay made a huge difference IMO.

The wire tuck really benefits against the white.

What are the benefits to removing the evap system, other than weight? Does it help at all with the gas tank filling issue? I have to hold my nozzle 180* to fill up without it clicking off.

Any other cons to removing it?
