Manual PCM and Harness for a 2006 Mustang GT.
I think you may have misunderstood, I have a 6r3a-12a650-gb, tear tag #gyx1 PCM, and a 6r3t-12b637-bg harness. 06 gt manual
I know, but I was hoping to keep cruise control and my reverse lights.. If possible in the future. I just want it up and running now, but I can always swap this stuff later to get the last two things to work.
Cruise control I am pretty sure is a tune issue, on the reverse lights, what makes you think that having the manual PCM will make it work? (real question, my initial guess is it won't but I can be way off, most of the swaps I have done have been resolved differently or were race cars where this did not matter)
Its funny you say that, I actually had found an old thread for like a 99-04 GT that had the auto/manual swap and he was saying the cruise control was a tune issue as well and that he figured out what values or whatever that had to be changed. I will have to see if I can dig it back up.. That would explain why some people with the swap got to keep the cruise control and some lost it. Some people with the auto harness/pcm got to keep it and some with the manual pcm/harness didn't..
Its been a very confusing quest for a solid answer.. As for the reverse lights, a friend of mine that did the swap almost 2 years ago said you can run a hot wire from ur fuse box or battery to the reverse switch on the transmission and then to the lights.. He said he once saw a thread on it, but I can't seem to find it. Please keep an eye out with any information.
Why? No needed for a manual swap.
So, this makes me bring this again:
More on the reverse thing, the reverse switch goes to the PCM, the PCM knows that the car is in reverse BUT there is no direct connection between the PCM and the SJB (which is the one that actually lit the lights), this comm goes thru the IC, as you are using a different strategy, the reverse flag is in some other place of it and the IC (and the rest of the CAN network ignores this) so lights will never come, manual pcm and auto pcm flashed with a manual strategy will deliver the exact same results. Now, this, can be wrong.
