Today, just a few minutes ago, I go to fill up the Mustang at the PX, pump my gas, and get in to reprogram with a 91 octane tune. Half way through the tune... BOOM, SCT screen goes blank, gauges on the car go blank... NOTHING. Now the SCT will not turn on when I plug it in to the OBD port on the car, but it will turn on when I connect it via USB cable to my PC.

Now I have no Tach, speedometer, temp or battery gauges, TURN SIGNALS... NOTHING.

WTF? Checked all the fuses, no problems. I KNOW it's something electircal because the car still runs FINE, no problems at all... but I am curious... WHAT IS WRONG HERE? :furious:

Go out and disconnect the negative cable from your battery for 10-15 minutes. Then re-connect it and see if all your stuff is working. If not, disconnect it again and let it sit for awhile longer. Also, check the pins on the OBD port and make sure they're all straight and none of them are pushed in too far. If everything is working o.k., plug in the xcal and try again.

Isn't there a fuse in the fuse box for the OBD port? It might not be listed as such. I haven't looked at mine in my Mustang but I know my truck had one. Had it blow once and had pretty much the same symptoms.

The first Xcal2 that i bought went dead in 1 month, had to pay 50 bucks to get a new one. i could have waited to see if SCT would fix it and give it back but didn't want to wait a month.
I would do like mentioned and disconnect the battery, usually it takes 10-15 minutes for it to reset itself.

something similar happened to me too. the first time i was loading my 93 tune it aborted or failed at like 97%. I tried it again and same thing...i thought my file was corrupted or something...My speedo and tach were dead...my miles werent reading out (kinda hoping id start back out at 0.0 miles) but after 2-3 minutes i tried it one more time and she loaded 100% ...things like these scare the shit out of you tho. hope it works out for you.

was the car on?

I never have had a problem with mine. Call up SCT and ask them. Prob just a fuse.
