Marc,
I am VERY sad to see that this happened, but I am VERY happy you found it on the dyno not at 1000 ft mark when something let go!
Good luck with the new motor, I know your getting something serious! You will have to make way east sometime next year, maybe for the ORTC or Shakedown, we can set up a match race!

as long as you give me a second head start...:beerdrink:

Wow!! Mark, you must have the patience of Job. I've had builds with problems before, but this takes the cake. Is there any part of the car that hasn't fucked up?

Keep the faith, bro. You'll have a badass car when you're done.

Job got back 10 fold Mark will too...Mark...don't curse the car lol

I'm actually not as bummed about this as I have been with other stuff in the past. I think because deep down, I have always known going into this build that the shortblock was the weak link and the only thing 'iffy' on the car.

I just expected it to become an issue after I got to enjoy it for awhile first but as some have pointed out, better to have happened now than to come a part at 170 mph...:argh:

Don't agree with the bad luck theme. This is typically what happens when you have the will and resources to push the envelope....it tends to push back. The more extreme the build, the more challenges encountered. There is no end...if this project closes...another will start (if not already)

I forgot--but did you ever determine why the motor did not have oil pressure? Was it somehow related to the bent cam? Or was it something else?

The bent cam took out the oil pump on startup and it was 100% the reason I didn't have oil pressure. No pump = no pressure...:beerdrink:

I'm 99% sure now the pistons have been rattling for quite awhile - it didn't just happen. It's just that I can actually 'hear' everything now.
