How much of a gap is there between the high and low on the dip stick for the oil. Just changed my and checked it before hand and it was within range. However when I filled up the empty bottles it only filled 5 qts worth. I know there wasn't 1 quart of oil that the rags sucked up from the oil bucket. Everything that came out went on the cardboard or in the bucket.

So my question I guess is is being a lil less than 1 quart low bad for the engine even though it was 'ok' on the dip stick? And I did check the oil filter and there wasn't much left inside so the quart wasn't hiding there.

PS. Thanx on the heads up on Energy Suspension formula five, I had disposable gloves on and that stuff is stickier than I expected. I found my new toy for the next time I prank someone.

The filter holds quite a bit, too.

That's where I thought it was too until I turned it upside down it just dripped out. Unless it was caught in the filter itself and there was more in it I understand. Just didn't know if anyone else had this. I've heard of people saying they sometimes doing 6 and a lil, just didn't know if anyone had the opposite where they might have been under 6.

I'm pretty much a n00b when it comes to the inner workings of cars but just trying to think of it as logical as possible without driving myself nuts. I still scratch my head when I see people post pics of their auto tranny's one part that looks like a maze and I wonder what the hell that guy was thinking when he made it up.
